Was talking to Jack "Knight" Catar.

We should start calling those two by their last names or nicknames. At least when they're on the same mission.

We should kill one and mount his corpse by the stasis pods as a warning.

He was responding to Pancaek, I think.

Nooo don't turn the life support off!

Don't kill the corpse!

If that guy's the runaway UE from mission 5, he's singlehandedly responsible for completely foiling not one but TWO of our missions.

He's already known to be anti-UWM.

He has extremely powerful space-magic.

We want him on our side!

I'm being speculative silly :P
But maybe the details coursing through my head aren't visible in text and in Feyri's ideas. Editing it in now.

This is just a random thought, but the post said Faith was heading for the suburbs, right? What if the bodyjacker is just trying to get back to whatever family she had before she got ghost arms, since she now has a physical body to interact with them? I doubt that is what is happening, but just a thought.

Am I the first person who's pointed out the god-emperor reference that is the corpse. Be afraid of the latent mind-space-magic. Be very cautious. Oh, and ask Steve what to do probably.

As long as you have an oxygenated firing chamber or self oxidising gunpowder why wouldnt a modrrn day gun work in space?

Might not be entirely practical, but it would work fine.

I'll note that gunpowder already has its own oxidant. It always has (One of the three components of blackpowder is potassium nitrate, an oxidizer), and I'm fairly sure modern guns, at least, would not function if it did not (the cartridge is sealed, after all).

They are currently cut off from command, due to the basement blocking radio signals.

I don't pay attention to all this 'science' nonsense, I just thought gunpowder weapons relying on oxidization didn't work in space for whatever reason, and that that was why we had gauss rifles to begin with. *shrug*
I thought they needed oxygen to work?

So, a normal firearm would need special modifications/enhancements to work in space, then? That's what I thought...

Actually, with the explosives/propellants (like there's much of a difference :P) available, it is quite easy to make a more old-fashioned weapon in ER that still works in space. Since the prototype weapon Charles is armed with is basically just a cross between a Thompson Submachine Gun and Pancor Jackhammer that just used more modern technology. It works in space since its explosives don't require air and its payload is self-oxidizing. What it doesn't work well in however, is water.

I think the main thing is that most HMRC weaponry were based on what was used in the Altered Wars. I suppose something that sprayed a lot of metal quickly at high speeds was not as effective as something that propelled a larger piece of metal slowly at even higher speeds or a laser. Plus I would imagine that gauss rifles and lasers have less moving parts and wouldn't jam as much.
