What are the known drugs and their affects?... You guys probably know where I am going with this

HMRC Standard Booze: tends to knock you out pretty damn fast.
Xeno Spit: varies, usually hallucinogenic, but apparently unpredictable sometimes. Can provide vivid images of beings that eat stars and drive those who look upon them mad even when the image is reproduced through medium of painting.
Bluesmokes: increased insight, blunted affect and decreased empathy/self preservation instincts.
Maldavian Mind Rot: a few drops create very detailed hallucinations as far as it is known.
Amp Usage: makes you an unpredictable, often not entirely intentional danger to society immediately or over time.
Random Pills: whatever you'd expect random pills to do.
Astro: ?, possibly similar to Xeno Spit in effects.
Also other cigarettes, but their effects are less known.

Note that bluesmokes replicate the symtoms of sociopathy.  Just FYI.

More info:
Mellows, which are ciggarettes which... mellow you out.

Xeno Spit, which is in Stacy's chemical sprayer.  It's an extremely powerful hallucinogen, which is ludicrously effective even in trace amounts.

Astro, which makes you hallucinate that you're floating in the void of space, which may or may not actually be happening when you're on it, and allows you to shape and manipulate the dream reality.

Maldavian Mind Rot, another extremely powerful hallucinogen, that is just as addictive.  Not many people have experimented with it.

That's all I can remember at the moment.  They're all free from the armory, and there's lots more.  Just ask the AM.

You forgot Angel is also applicable for the noob fund. He participated in both the boarding and defense.

Dubley will take two tokens if available

Hmm, there is no stat boosting drugs? Some of those might still prove useful though. Tinkering sounds fun =3  (yeah I'll do most of this in the tinker forum, I'm just noting what drugs to buy to take in there if I survive the first mission)

Well, what if you put a kinetic amp in a guitar in such a way that it amplifies the sound coming out to a force that could hurt?
...
Tinker people, get on this.
When I suggested it, I was actually thinking of FLCL. Ie beating people with massively destructive gasoline powered guitars.

Ok, so I don't have any time to do a long post right now, but I'll try to do the accounting for the newbie fund stuff tomorrow. Was going to add those three nyars boxes, but then people started claiming them already and then pw validated it, soooo I'm not sure what I'll do with that. Probably just leave it be, for everyone's sanity.
eh, I might donate mine to it or sell it off, depending on what I get. I'l definetelly test out the banana and what I get from the box before going on a mission.
As for the fund itself, can I juts come in and take the requisite tokens for a mark 2?
Also PW, you gonna post here when ER Movie Night's online?

Yes, I  will. Namely now.
http://www.justin.tv/piecewise666

We'll be playing random crap till about 3 hours from now.

YAAAY!  TCM made a catgirl thug!

That is hilarious.  And awesome.

\
((I still want to be at least semi-useful for the next mission, if I switch the gun and armour out for a keytar and amp, am I at this point able to provide buffs?))

((Amps do not provide buffs. They tend to provide death and not much more.))

This isn't absolutely true, in the strictest sense.  The mind control amps can provide 'buffs' insofar as you can forcibly remove fear from your allies, help clear mind control from their heads, and other things.  The Fleshwarp amp can give buffs in the sense that they can help repair allies, and give 'buffs' similar to the blacklight virus.  AUX can also 'buff' people in a manner of speaking, especially those with exoskeletons; You can create a HUD for people, and can override their movements using the exoskeleton.

Come to think of it, exery one of those methods is either a long-term goal for Saint, or he's working on it at the moment.  I guess he's the closest thing ER has to a cleric, at least in terms of abilities.  Or a psionicist.

I'm off to work on getting missions set up and working on the history thing. I'll see everyone tomorrow for movies.

Oh and TEN, people, I'll do a post for you either this evening or tomorrow during the movies. I just gotta get this stuff done.

Oh and seeing as we're about to launch a Player run R&D group, I figured now would be the right time to upload and post this. Just to see the effect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrEdZ__C63w&feature=youtu.be&noredirect=1

Okay, yeah, that's just stupid.  But what I'm more curious about is this:  You said you uploaded that.  Which means that's your youtube account.  Which means, at some point, you made what appears to be a let's play of what appears to be a japanese pigeon dating sim.

...
These things are all true.

Really that profile started out as a place for me to dump a bunch of audio from a terrible dragon ball z porn movie that I was reviewing on this very forum.  Also a reading of a terrible fanfiction.

Warning, I'm not very good at anything.

That book of short stories that Faith was reading- did you write the stories in it?  I thought you did, but honestly, at this point that could be a fabrication of my mind.

Say, what time is movie night in GMT?
I'm starting it at around 9am pacific time, which is 7 hours behind GMT. So 4 pm GMT, I believe. And it runs for basically until everyone has had their fill.

Huh.  I guess that translates to 12pm EST.  That's way earlier than I expected.  Good thing that it's on a day I woke up before eleven, I suppose.

And can someone check over this intended (eventual) loadout to tell me what it's missing or if it's stupid? Something like:

"Sibilus" Rocket/Gauss Hybrid Rifle (7 token) (hey look if i stay at long range i'm further away from my teammates)
Monoatomic Razor or Kinetic Amp (2 or 3 tokens) (just in case)
Longcoat (3 token) (is this useful?)
2/3 Exoskeleton (6 token)
Mk II suit (5 token)

This armoury seems seriously lacking in light armour. The cheapest actual protective suit is the battle armour at 20 tokens?

Drop the last two, and just go with an MK.III. It'll be cheaper than both, and with more power.  And it gives the best armor in the game against space magic- speed

The reason there's so little non-tank armor in the game, is because of what we're fighting in most cases.  Remember, the gauss rifle, 'small arms' in this world, fires a 20mm slug.  This is a video of a man emptying a real-life 20mm's clip.  Then, take into account the fact that gunpowder weapons are inherently inefficient (most of the energy is lost to the gasses propelling the bullet), and that gauss weapons are just the opposite- there's no energy lost on anything aside from heating the coils.

The heavy gauss cannon fires a 60mm.  The cutting laser is around the size of this guy's gun.  It isn't that ER armor is rare, or bad, it's just that weapons are so (justifiably) overpowered as to make them almost entirely purposeless up until the point you're a literal tank.

And then you get into amps, where even a complete newb with a microwave amp can easily kill any member of the ARM, short of Miyamoto, with a single dirt cheap blob of +60 degrees, as long as you have the element of surprise.

Applicable newbs:

Steve Saint
Thaddeus
Hasala Nabin/Felix Grant
Magilla
Dubley Steptimus
Jack/Theodore Catar
Magilla

Current newbie support fund:
3 laser rifles + 3 gauss rifles from defence
gauss sidearms and advances Mk.I from Flint
rocket launcher + 1 frag and 1 seeker rocket from Dudly

Piecewise, could you tell me the total value of this pool?

Now U_P, how about you? How many of those 10 tokens from the battlesuit gear (the one Faith killed) are you going to share with the newbies, as per our agreement?
And I'm guessing you won't be contributing the stuff from the boarding, like Paris and NAV did?

Can I take a single token from the fund immediately, so I don't have to sell my sub-exo?
Yeah I wrote those.

as PW said, battle stims. They provide a +1 to a certain stat for 5 turns, then a -1 to that same stat for 6 turns. Taking multiple doses at once is said to have weird effects. The example PW gave was that if you took 3 endurance ones, you'd basically be unable to feel pain and be able to keep going no matter how bad the damage you took.

They cost 3 tokens for 1 dose in the armory. But I'm selling 3 pills for 2 tokens. Limited supply available.

Piecewise: If you can, may I request the latest updated sheets on Lyra and Feyri? And if they've got level-ups in place?
What about Grate's? Tyvm!

Grate's sheet on the wiki should be up-to-date.

If you do make another Perplexicon, or Poison campaign, would it involve strange figures that are only visible when viewed from a certain angle that move around by disintegrating and reintegrating and who attack by shooting tapeworms out of their digits?
...
What?

Say, anyone have a suggestion for how Milno (?) and Grate could get into that artifact-analysing deal?

I never agreed to donate any of the battlesuit tokens, i agreed only to count my resources and inform you of what i decided to contribute, which could have been nothing if i was feeling particularly spiteful.

Ignoring spite, why wouldn't i donate the guns i recovered?
They are worth 4 token and i only need 1 for a battlesuit or synthflesh body. Beyond that they are pretty much useless to me.

In any case my intended donations are as follows:
5 laser batteries to go with those laser rifles
4 tokens worth of UWM sidearms
1 repaired civvy exoskeleton, although im considering selling for the 1 token i need.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

He doesn't need to. Sending a ship-wide message to people's wristpads asking help to figure out what to do with an alien artifact and offering the possibility of a reward or anything alone those lines would be enough to catch Milno's eye.

Send out the message "HELP NEEDED - SPARE ALIEN POWER SOURCE OF UNKNOWN POTENTIAL, WILL TRADE FOR CANDY AND TOKENS AND KNOWLEDGE". It's that simple.
