((Dang, the one time pw updates our missions early is when there's a crazy plan in the works and I'm not in time to respond to it. Oh well, we're committed now, might as well :v
Turn coming later.))
Hey, I don't see what the problem with the plan is. It worked, didn't it? The nuclear blast threw the bombers off course and bought us time without triggering their automanipulator shields.
And it's much better than doing nothing and twiddling our thumbs, wasting time while waiting for someone else to come up with a better plan and/or the bombs to drop. If you are really think it's too dangerous to even try to fight, then the rest of you can always go hide from the bombs in the palace.
If you're referring to my current plan, then sure it's not exactly *does exaggerated airquotes* saaane, but its insanity is mostly just descriptive in nature, giving piecewise something fun to write about and describing the plan in a fun way. The plan itself itself is simple and solid. Go up there and bypass the shuttle shields, either by shooting them from behind, if that is possible, or (more preferably) by bypassing its automanipulator shield, possibly by matching speed with the shuttle and using the fact that automanipulators are triggered by specific conditions to slowly fly through it.
If I manage to get through the automanipulator shield, then great, there are now a number of things I could try, like hacking the other shuttles or simply telling Miyamoto where the automanipulators are located so that you could try to melt them with radiation or whatever.
If not, but I manage to shoot and destroy the shuttle, then great, one less bomber to worry about, a little more time bought, a few civilian lives saved.
And if I fail, being in the air is by definition the safest place to be when bombs are being dropped.
Well, you know, unless I get shot.
But that's always a possibility in war.
