Suppose I might as well add my whining to the cacaphony.
Saint likes Green Storm. For him, it has no possible negative effect aside from possibly forcing him to make a heroic sacrifice, which he deems as both highly unlikely and worth the risk.
syvarris intensely hates Green Storm. For him, it cheapens the game and greatly lowers risk in a lot of situations. Someone made a stupid decision and we're all gonna die? Green storm, let's get out of here. Extremely powerful opponent which we feel like we stand no chance against? Green Storm. No creativity to it, and it puts a cap on how much risk we can have before we autowin.
It also makes whatever happens less interesting. The guy who made the heroic sacrifice against the AoP? Just an arbitrary decision, really. Yes, it causes PW to suddenly jump in descriptive detail, but he's just arbitrarily deciding upon and describing the best result possible, and at that point, why's he need players?
Lastly, it makes no sense in-universe. Steve can possess our brains, risking brain damage... Wait, a small implant can control how the entire brain thinks, so that it can interact with amps and such? With zero lag or interference? Why can't a sod/Steve can't just possess the body of a CON specialist? Possessing the brain carries no benefit, and would make things slower and less efficient. And of course, if Steve can green storm people, why is he even using us? Why doesn't he just send a bunch of sods and possess all of them? Their lack of connection to origin wouldn't be a problem anymore, and he could always mix in humans if he really needed origin tech.
So yeah. It doesn't add anything to the game, in my opinion, and doesn't make sense in-universe. Why does it exist? Because piecewise doesn't tend to think intensely hard about his ideas.
