<AoshimaMichio> Piecewise: The coupon question: What is life story of the Doctor? Including his most remarkable work.
<Piecewise> Also, aoshima, from what steve knows, the doctor was born on a rather humdrum planet and did relatively normal work for a long time. The thing that pushed him to what he is today is that he was one of the specialists who was brought in to view Orgin and to work on it.
<Piecewise> He had a had in the creation of the altered strain, though he wasn't alone, and the leak to the public wasn't his idea
<Piecewise> he was the lead on creating the ghost ships, the arbiters and was part of a group that did the Avatar and Titan projects
<Devastator> still need more than one scientist.
<Piecewise> Yeah? He was just involved in a lot of stuff, he didn't do it all on his own
<Piecewise> Basically he was involved in a lot of the synthflesh related things because he was basically the foremost expert on the stuff
<Piecewise> Altered strain was an offshoot of that, avatars and titans are made of it
<Devastator> so why is he immortal?
<Piecewise> You remember Xan?
<Piecewise> Flesh horror?
<Piecewise> He's better at it. More controlled, more refined. Closer to the thing he was trying to make with the altered strain.
<Piecewise> Can still die though
<Piecewise> There's a reason he was seeding himself all over the damn place. It's because the individual bodies are powerful but if you nuke him, he's gone
<Piecewise> Uh, well he helped make the armory master, was executed for "war crimes", but had finished his self modification before hand and when they executed his old body, he reemerged through a cadaver in his lab
<Piecewise> since then he was bouncing around a little, because he predicted that the altered would one day return, since he figured we couldn't get them all
<ER_InternetPLS> take that, death
<Piecewise> he was attempting to prepare for them himself, including working on the EUE, but eventually joined up with steve because their goals lined up
<Piecewise> Anything more specific you'd like?
<AoshimaMichio> Piecewise: Phobetor
<Piecewise> Phobetor is where they made the armory master and did research into combining synthflesh and human tissue. It was the place the Altered strain was originally developed and it was reused to create hybrid flesh beings, trying to again get some measure of Origin's power down into human form
<Devastator> How does Origin tech make non-origin tech anomalies?
<Piecewise> ....such as?
<Devastator> artifacts from batteries exploding, artifacts from the planetoid.
<AoshimaMichio> hybrid flesh? What's that?
<Piecewise> Dev: Think of them like trininite (SP?).
<Piecewise> They're not purposefully made
<Piecewise> not connected because they're just waste material or side effects
<Piecewise> Origin tech means something that has a similarity to origin itself. We, for instance, have intrinsic similarities to it
<Piecewise> (as does all other known life)
<AoshimaMichio> even crystal people from first mission?
<Piecewise> But it doesn't seem to recognize clones we make as connected
<Piecewise> it's odd
<Piecewise> Even the crystal people. Though from origin's perspective they were a failure
<Piecewise> But thats something beyond the knowledge of steve
<Piecewise> In any case, Ao, Hybrid flesh or "Gray flesh" is a combined flesh, sythflesh with human shape, so to speak.
