My Easter holidays were spent equally between cleaning my house and destroying a litre of vodka. This weekend, I'm relaxing with a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Had to work several shifts short-staffed this week thanks to illness (not that kind though). I'm glad I can finally have a break now, and intend to do so with a little relaxation juice.

Incredibly stressful, actually. Especially considering I work in healthcare.

Thus, a brave bottle of vodka gave itself in sacrifice to ease my mind.

It mostly served duty as screwdrivers, care of a few liters of OJ. I'd spend a few hours cleaning, then mix a drink and spend a few hours relaxing with it. All told, a productive and exceptionally relaxing extra-long weekend to counter the chaotic madness that was the week prior.

Plus, the shitter has never looked shinier.

Myself, I think I've just about returned from my wanderings to the material plane. Still have a bourbon and... grape fanta that I mixed for myself at some point hours ago, not sure if I can stomach that at this point, though.

I found out Robot Jox is on Archive.org. It's pretty good, considering most of the budget was spent on lunch. It isn't bad, but it is enhanced by Heavily. Which is why I'm drinking that.

I'm down to tequila, and an orange fanta I bought at a drive-through after striking out at 4 grocery stores.

When the plan is to hang out with friends, buying a slab is like pissing in the ocean.   
But when you're drinking alone? In social isolation? A slab feels like a goddamn lifetime supply.

At least, it does for me, with my drinking habits being rather slower than usual, what with no people to socialise with or bands to mosh to. Bit harder to suck down beers when you've got a controller in your hands most of the time. I'm currently watching Shaun of the Dead for the first time in years, though, which is good inspiration.

Yesterday afternoon I decided I was going to go get some really good beer to make myself feel more normal. Then a coworker reminded me that I'm on call starting today, and get to be sober for a week.

I've been drinking less often during quarantine, but I just needed something. At least Wendy's has free chicken nuggets today.

Nothing like an English film to get you drinking to catch up. Those good ol' Britons and their pubs and pints and pisshead-ery.

I drink fosters bitters. They are $2 USD per 24 ounce, 5% alcohol, so if I'm feeling particularly thirsty, I can fuel my budding alcoholism with a gallon of beer for ten bucks.

In other news, is it okay to mix whiskey with sarsaparilla? It's the closest thing to a mixer I have that isn't water.
Also, wtf kind of word is "sarsaparilla"? I'm amazed I've managed to spell it right twice in a row. Never realised it had an extra syllable in there 'til I googled it just now.

Yeah, that's good with a lot of whiskeys. I think it's got something to do with the plant it's made of, but it's just the old word for root beer.
