Tonight *though officially yesterday was the night we remember the immortal memory of our Lord and Saviour... Admiral Horatio Nelson, as he valiantly sacrificed his own life to save us from that greatest most original sin: the French. But in all seriousness, the French are a glorious contribution to the world, and let us not forget the Spanish, who delivered me no less than 4 glasses of red wine. That is not to say little of London's beers, of which tonight I partook many, nor of the most powerful of peoples of this world: The Portuguese, who in turn supplied me with no less than six glasses of fortified Maderian vintage aptly known as Port. To that end, as I drunk tea, was drunk on many things, hearing tales of the sea, my deafened ears bore witness to the uproar of so many peers chanting Rule Britannia, I myself reminiscing on the scathing rebuke one of my Professors gave but a year prior on what kind of person would sing this song - I myself, joining this glorious chorus of valiant gallantry singing to the memory and future of free-mankind on the seas. It was the best rendition of that song I'd ever heard in my life, aided by the heroic efforts of a SINGLE violinist, whose sonorous sounds will soothe my memory for as long as I am living to remember. Bless him, bless tea, bless Port and bless my own wisdom for seeing my limit but a drink short of being hungover even when such drinking obscures it, and never forget: Bermudan Rum goes well with a bit of lemon and lime, but it is on our time that we make merry with our friends, and I toast we sing to a sickly season and a quick promotion. And pray, let me not forget the chap named after a river, who paid for my drink knowing full well I had not the penny to pay this week, truly a man is amongst saints (and seriously he trusted me with his card and pin, it's warming that he found me such a trustworthy person, nevertheless I felt obliged to warn that had I been born a villain I would've ordered 100 bottles of champagne or somesuch nonsense).
In summation: the Australians are based and make good wine. Fuck Damo though, he's always stealing me lighter.
