Well, that case was a day of binge drinking after a... family thing.
As were the other cases of soreness I've had there.
I know getting a near-daily buzz isn't healthy, either, though.

Mm, got a 12-pack of nice local IPA.  Cost about twice as much as the rice swill I usually drink, but is bitter and has some actual fizz and taste.
Plus, it's 1.5x as alcoholic, so it's actually not *that* cost-ineffective!

Work thing cancelled at last minute, so looks like I can get back into them earlier than I thought

Is there a... thing ... where your liver starts to hurt when you've had too much to drink? Can you actually feel your liver like that? I dunno if is really my liver, might be abdoimnal muscles or some shit like that.

I... think I've had that before.
Pain in the lower back on the right side, at least. Never stayed for too long and I never paid it much mind. From what I'm told I was born with only one (working) kidney, so I always assumed it had something to do with that- and raised my next drink to the noble efforts of my one super-kidney, of course.

Probably more likely to be a gallstone pain. Occurs in the same area as the liver too, and they're fairly common. There's conflicting opinions over whether avoiding alcohol is best with gallstones due to risk of inflammation of the pancreas, or if moderate alcohol intake actually has a protective benefit on reducing gallstone formation. Honestly, do what feels best for you, and in my opinion that means I'm going to go have another glass of wine.

Er... I seem to have survived my... "liver trouble" or whatever the fuck it was. There was a bit of puking, stomach cramps, diarrhea, that sort of thing... but a few days of good ol' abstinence did the trick.

But I'm not going to see the doctor, oh no. The truth is that I really, really shouldn't be drinking at all with my current medication, and it's kinda embarrassing to say "Hey Doc, I might've busted my liver even though you explicitly told me not to!" if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I've adopted a "fridays only" drinking regime from now on, and I'm about halfway through a slab of cheapest beer money can buy around here. ^__^

There's a small festival happening in my town this evening, I think I might go down the road and do some normally-illegal drinking on the street.
I'm pretty tired, though. I'd probably rather stay home and drink, to be honest, but my housemates have company over and eh.

I think I've made less than a dozen soberposts on Bay12 thus far, discounting a few hangover-posts which are neither sober- nor drunkposts in the strict sense.

The problem is, I just don't feel like posting when I'm perfectly sober, is all. This makes me a pretty terrible conversationalist, naturally, but what can I do? Talking to people when sober is a special skill, and it takes a lot of effort to learn when you've spent decades purposefully avoiding it.

In the meantime, I'm 5 hours into a six hour drive home (rest area). Been a mature adult babysitting 4 kids with my bro. It's Saturday, and I have beer waiting in the fridge. I dunno about *drunk*, but I'm going to relax tonight  (:

Made some some sangria, a bottle of white wine, half a bottle of rum, some orange juice, some sprite and some fresh fruit. Turned out alright. I didn't plan on drinking it all, but it went down pretty easy.
