The answer is no, really.  I'm just kinda ashamed and sorry.

Except I also feel pretty fucking okay.
Of course.  I'm drunk.

On the other hand, I got drunk waaay faster today than usual.  Due to exercising some basic level of restraint for the past three weeks.  I got drunk a few times, sure, but compared to the basically-constant-but-mild stream of alcohol I was operating on?  My tolerance dropped a lot, and I guess I reaped the benefits today.

And I did hike for it, and it was lite, so I probably did raise my fitness a bit.  Particularly since...  I think I only ate 2 packs of ramen today?  Full stop?
And got a lot of work done?

Maybe being perma-drunk isn't so bad.  Well... I mean, being sober was getting kinda interesting though.  I'll give it another few days at least.  Maybe I'll even build the self-respect to date someone!


Being sober is pretty frightening, though.  Lots of things came back, things I'd rather not deal with.  I think I *can*, probably, but...  They just got worse and worse as time went on.

I suck at money.

At least I wound up drinking with friends (something I didn't expect to happen) and used 25 of those dollars to buy myself a rad commemorative t-shirt to treasure for all time, but still. Oh, and I got quite excellently, spectacularly, enjoyably drunk. It was... pretty good, actually. I still have $20 for tonight and tonight's bands are the kind that make you feel intoxicated just by listening to them, so I don't know why I'm complaining.

Dry July is coming up, so I'm squeezing as much fun in as I can before my yearly abstinence month. I'll sure miss my wine with dinner! I'll be interested in whether my alcohol tolerance drops significantly, since I can comfortably consume a bottle of wine a day without feeling overly tipsy.

I don't really understand why it rains, but I love that it does.

Feeling pretty okay actually, I think I fell asleep early.  Which would be bad except I had yesterday sorta-off on illness anyway.

Start with half a bag of yellow rice, mmm.
Add way too much water, I guess this is rice soup now.  Heat. 
Cover and let simmer on very low, for 20 minutes with that loud timer you can't ignore.
Add three eggs, because hey it's soup might as well.  Stir
Eh they'll cook in the heat, bring pot to computer.
Wait about 5 minutes.  Whatever, they're eggs and I'm hungry.
Dump in a bunch of verde sauce what the fuck are you doing
oh actually it's kinda delicious

have trouble sleeping all night because you just ate a bunch of tamales
avoid any hangover though because the soup was very wet

I actually think I'm going to make that again for lunch!

...Oh but now I remember I added a bunch of soy sauce to the last few bites, way too much, and that tasted *weird*.  No soy this time.

Is strategically getting drunk (ie getting drunk with a preplanned set of behaviours you plan to exhibit and then pointing to the alcohol as the cause) a thing people commonly do? Because I believe I'm probably going to do that tonight, for a reason that sounds only slightly unnecessarily complicated.

Well, never mind that. I clearly underestimated the strength of this stuff.

Stupid vodka. I should ... presumably drink more next time or somesuch. Or maybe I actually am drunk at the moment and I'm just not noticing. Certainly doesn't feel as severe as the last time, I can actually use vocabulary that has more than one syllable and I've only noticed the slightest lapse in my motor skills. My thought process is basically unimpeded, I'm able to stand up without swaying...

Presumably it'll fuck me over in the morning or somesuch. How do you lot determine if you're drunk? Right now I'm not experiencing anything like what it's been described as.

Found an extra bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon in back of cupboard! This calls for a celebration! It's not too bad, either. God help me tomorrow, though. Reds always leave me feeling dehydrated the next morning.

Haha, have to strongly disagree there.  At least for me.
Heck in my case, it's arguably an ability to type (;  As in initiate chats, you know.

Seriously though I can be falling-down wasted and still put together pretty normal-looking sentences, it's somewhat troubling.
Drunk is an inability to stop typing when I should.

As for judging how much to drink, it is a mystery to me too...  I basically just have to be careful whenever I switch alcohols, because getting drunk works on a significant delay and is rather subtle (particularly once you're deep).  So it's a matter of guess-and-check, and other factors (like a full stomach) can make a big difference.  Tolerance matters a lot too.  I abstained for not even 2 weeks, and then quantities that I could normally handle fine were making me seriously ill.  Which was a good thing once I readjusted the amounts.

I saw bands rtonight! The last one was scalled "Keggin'"! They were as awesome as you would expect!
The whole ight was most enjopyable!
