And, arguably more importantly to me, it was referenced by Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Small, efficient verse carrying so much meaning.

Where's the whiskey and schnapps at? Besides at the liquor store and not in my cabinet or glass, which makes me sad.

Did you know you can make your own schnapps fairly easily (although it takes a while)? It's pretty much just infused vodka with some sugar.

Be aware that if you're trying to make it in the original bottle (which isn't unreasonable), you might end up with a bunch of fruit or whatever stuck in the bottom that can't get past the neck. Makes recycling tougher.

Bought some beers, cheap whiskey and ginger ale to drown the sorrows I am most likely going to have in the near future.
Of course, it's a hot day and I have cracked a couple of those beers already so as to help me work up the motivation to create these new sorrows...

Had 3 rum'n'cokes and two muscle relaxers tonight, each triple-ish shots. I really enjoy being absolutely fuckin' hammered when I'm alone.

Am I ok? I'd like to think so. But I dunno. I love my girlfriend and my kids and I don't want to fail them...but every once in a while I just want to get smashed. I'm out of pain killers again, so this is how Imma sleep tonight. I hope.

Hope you manage to get some rejuvenating sleep! That does sound lovely, and don't beat yourself up about "failing" your family - that's absurd. Everyone needs to unwind sometime. Else they'd wind up gradually fraying their nerves or cracking entirely, and that's a much bigger issue than getting drunk every so often.   



Anyways, I still have a lot of packing to do, but I kind of want to go grab another bottle of ginger ale to go with the last of this cheap whiskey. Or, there is also a gig on tonight with a couple of my favourite local bands, which I believe is free - but I don't think I can justify going out when I still need to get my stuff packed and my room clean in preparation for moving the day after tomorrow.

I would rather feed my kids mushrooms than drink with them. That is irresponsible and can get them hurt.
