          "Ow, shit!" You mumble to yourself, as you get the weaving fly caught on your bare finger again. Nursing the wound, you glance absently around. Your house is in west province of Amarna, a wealthy Nile river town in the prosperous Egyptian Kingdom. Being a tailor means that you have acquired a good amount of wealth from selling fabrics and clothing to wealthy traders along the Great River. Recently though, riots and dissension in the Southern Kingdom has cut trade to a trickle. This hasn't affected you as much, however, since you have taken the time to store your wealth in your house.
            Speaking of which, is a nondescript place of two stories, still much larger than many others can afford. The upper floor has your sleeping cot, with the softest fabrics you have kept for yourself as the bedding. Downstairs is the table, your loom, some utensils for eating, and a few pots containing your food stores. Last years Great Flood had made crops bountiful, and while most of the grain is stored in great storage areas designated by the Pharoah, the bounty has left some to be distributed normally amongst the farmers, which you decide to take advantage of.
          Turning back to your loom, you resume making the Fabric for a trader that has specifically requested it, whom is staying the night in a hovel nearby. It is currently night outside, and some screaming and banging can be barely heard in the distance. "Wish they would stay quiet.." You mumble again, threading the fly through the threads.

To the west, behind you, is your door, a simple two inch thick reed cover, intertwined with thick sticks to hold up. To the north is your storage room, which is slightly below ground and has no windows. To the east, where you are facing, is your loom and tailoring equipment. To the south is another room, which has two windows, on facing east, the other west. You use this room for eating, characterized by the table and bowls.

You manage to find your Grandfathers walking stick, which is made of dark, smooth imported European wood, with a sapphire gem on the top. You also grab your headress, a purple silk one that you made yourself, providing coolness even in the scorching heat. Then, you head to the window:
