+1 to everything but naming the village. Also, begin domesticating additional animals.

Name our god Oni-One. (or anything, really)
Oni-One Knobie?

I originally made it as a play on "onion" and "one", but your idea sounds better.
+1

Also, maybe we should consider building some houses on water at some point or is that too risky at the moment?

Not sure if we have enough wood.

Also, our river floods temporarily, like the Nile. Real estate is not that useful when it sets course for the ocean.

Well, by "on water", I mean on the ocean/sea (not the river anyway), if just by the coast.
Then again, we'd need some sort of boats or even rafts first, and tons of wood, for both them and the buildings in question. (luckily the forest is a thing)

Maybe first we should build a few houses or at least a camp near the forest. A lumberyard?

Homes on the sea don't seem to be such a good idea. There's storms, waves throwing you upon the coast. (Ie, you risk significant damage everytime you have to land*).

The lake would be a far better choice.

*Every day, because you need fresh water.

Yeah.
Regardless, we're going to need a lot of wood, so first we should guarantee a steady flow of that beforehand.
How far is the forest anyway? Half a day of travel? Two days? A month? (it doesn't appear to be very far away, but still)

Anyway, consider some sort of bridge/stepping stone combination, and extend the village on both sides of the river. Sure, it will only be accessible during floods, but it will be a benefit in the long run.

Why would it only be accessible during floods?

Whups. Missed an inversion there. It won't be accessible during floods.

1. Find farmable plants that can be used to weave cloth, farm them.

a. All efforts should be focused on making more food to support more people so we can make more food so we can support more people etc.

2. Invent better farming implements.

b. Find more farmable things that we can cultivate into mass production things.

3. Spend some time building a dike between farms and us.
Or in more ancient terms: make wall so river god doesn't kill us.

See about butchering some excess piggies and making a small boat from the skins stretched over a wooden frame, forming a coracle.

Otherwise, name the harvest deity The Toad, with the symbol of a toad sitting on a pile of onions.
Find more plants to grow, better farming implements, more farms, and see about building some houses on stilts.

Keep expanding those fields, and diversifying those crops. Also construct a fishing weir as suggested, to get more protein in our diet.

Any other ideas, guys?
+1.

Fishing weir's are very effective thingies. So effective that we might have to watch out not to overdo it. Don't want to eliminate all fish in the river.

Hey now, lots of great civilizations screwed themselves over by destroying their environments. The "Fertile" Crescent, Rapa Nui, the Maya kingdoms, the Anasazi, the Japanese (for a while)...

I didn't intend to phrase that as an argument against the fishing weir.
