Can we fight for the Thalmor instead of these moronic nord factions?
There's a mod for something like that. No quests as far as I know.

Then you get cities like Paris where you should basically just kill yourself already.

You won’t have to think anymore: it’ll be just like having fun!

You'll have to settle for IC Nazi-elvery, as I don't have any such mods downloaded, and frankly I can't imagine that anyone would be sympathetic enough towards the Thalmor to actually MAKE such a mod.

After a few hits, the lock breaks. They just don't make em like they used to.
Had to outrun Todd after that, he blocked the entrance pretty well, but I eventually outmaneuvered him.

When I got outside well...three more of those bastard atronachs were waiting, just in case. Those Nords REALLY don't like High Elves. And I really don't like them.
Luckily, the local wildlife stepped in, looks like they have no love of giant frost golems on their turf.

After wandering around in the cold for awhile, I found that the local horker population is having good luck against their wolven predators.
More pelts for me. I grab all I can and fashion them into a nice warm fur coat. I use the rags I started with to make a nice cloak to help keep some of the cold out.
Spoiler: Getting Dressed (click to show/hide)
Nords didn't bet on me having experience as a tailor I reckon, but when your life consists of going from tavern to tavern, getting drunk and punching people...well you have to make money somewhere. Guess I chose right.

Heading south, I follow the ice floes, avoiding horkers, or worse the damned frigid waters. I come upon some torches stuck in a mountain with a door. The torches seem to be magic though, light but no heat.
Spoiler:  The Outpost (click to show/hide)
Going inside I meet an...interesting fellow. That's what they like to call em down in summerset. Mostly the people I hang around call em crazies though.
Spoiler: No Heat to Be Found (click to show/hide)
Bastard didn't even stock any fires except for a few candles, and theres no damned heat in those! So I nicked his wine. A girl gets thirsty when she's cold y'see.
Spoiler: Septimus' Wine (click to show/hide)

So heading up the coast I kill another wolf or two and make some nice gloves and boots, before I see something interesting off in the distance. Looks like a wreck, but more importantly, there's fire. I'm pretty sure I can't last all that long as it is, fur clothes be damned! So my course is set, time to follow it.
It takes some doing...but I made it, I'm damn near ready to drop, but the wreck is right in front of me.
That's when I see him. A big bastard with a look on his face I've only seen in bandits. So I guess its a fight then.
Spoiler: First Actual Fight (click to show/hide)
A girls gotta keep her secrets, but I'll just tell you that I've picked up some nice hand to hand moves over the years of brawling. He went down like a whimpering kitten, and when I nicked his mace I beat the next idiot to death with it. Then I got myself over to that fire.
Spoiler: Fire at Last (click to show/hide)
Nice relaxing fire, it takes awhile, but I feel alive again...which is when the thirst and hunger hits. So I eat the potatoes I picked up in a barrel, and drink some of the madmans wine.
Spoiler: Sweet Sweet Warmth! (click to show/hide)
Note to self: Saltwater tastes terrible and only makes you more thirsty, don't drink from the sea again. But I do collect some in the wine bottles, then boil it till I have some salt for cooking. Salmon Steaks coming right up!

Looking around I find a way to get up top of the wreck. Vantage points and all that. Turns out there was another one hiding out up there, the leader by the look of er. She took some hard blows, but I put her down with the sword I looted from her companion. Then I slept in her bedroll. Hope its not diseased or anything.

So after a good nights sleep I go back to the fire to get warm, then drink the rest of weirdos wine and some wolf meat. I couldn't get it to cook right, so I ate it mostly raw. Turns out Witbane is what I get for that act of desperation. So afterwards I hang around and collect every bit of deadwood that I can find scattered up and down the coast, its not great for starting a fire, but it'll work. Get some torches too, those'll be handy for sure.
Setting off further east I find a cave. I wonder what I'll find inside?[/I]

That's our stopping point for today, because I need sleep in real life. See you next time on Stupidly Survivalist Skyrim!

But if I do that now I won't get that achievement that gives me 25 extra health after contracting huge number of diseases!
Theres also one that gives you +25% health, magicka, and stamina regen for not using potions till level 25. At which point there is a achievement with the same reward for chugging down about 1000 potions.
AchieveThat!- encouraging a drug-free lifestyle immediately followed by repeated overdose.

Well, I'd rather you not become a vampire purely because you would then be unable to freeze to death.  Whether or not you can die from not drinking blood varies by game/story/etc, so I just don't know if it will keep you from starving or dehydrating to death (good example of differing treatment of vampires in the same game is dwarf fortress: In Fortress mode, they can live forever without blood; In Adventure mode, they'll eventually die of thirst if they don't drink some blood)

((Actually you can turn on/off the vampire immortality aspect of frostfall.
And I plan to turn it off  8)
And I don't know about the drinking thing. RND really only has a option for dying of thirst when mortal, no keeling over from starvation or sleep dep (though they give huge maluses.) IMCN had the option for vamps to need blood to live, but it seemed to cause issues with better vampires. That and the "being a mess of patches I don't know whether to use or not because using them all at once crashes on start" thing made me reconsider that particular mod.))

SOMEONE POST SO I CAN START PLAYING THIS AGAIN WITHOUT THIS POST BEING A WALL OF TEXT!
Also someone tell me how to do real screenshots, because the steam ones suck ass.

Posting so you can play again. Really, what's there to ask? Sneak in and take a look around. Try not to get killed before you get enchanted gloves/gauntlets that up your unarmed damage. Actually, as long term goal, have all your gear enchanted with that.

Or you can work with Steam's screenshots, access the file where they're stored, and upload them to your online image sharing website of choice.

THANK FREAKING REMUTHRA.

Now I can actually update this without feeling like a clod.
Also note that this save runs stupidly slow for no apparent reason. I have another save using everything this one uses that runs PERFECTLY GORRAM FINE, but this one just hates me for some reason. Fuck if I know.

Anyway PLOT!

GODS DAMN IT! You know what was inside that cave? Trolls. Frost Trolls. Also known to any sane person as the last thing you ever want to meet in a cave.
Luckily I made it out of there alive, but one of the bastards swiped me good, gonna take a long painful time for that one to scar over.
Made it out of the cave and took off across the water. Found some good crossing spots, so I didn't get myself soaked in that blasted freezing deathtrap.
After the crossing I found something nice. A camp, and a free horse to boot!

So looking around the camp, I found some nice loot, including a necklace and some Horker Tusks that should be saleable once I get the hell back to civilization.
Even better, I find a spellbook that looks like it will come in very handy.

So after gathering everything vaguely valuable and eating the horker loafs that some poor bastard left, I jack his horse and take off into the freezing wilderness.
Which...is very fucking depressing.

And don't let that castle-thing in the back get your hopes up. That's Winterhold, and they're the bastards that put me in that glacier.
Fucking Nords, if I never see another Nord I will be so godsdamn happy.

NORDS IT IS!
ONWARDS TO WINDHELM AND ALL THOSE BLESSED WONDERFUL NORDS WHO AREN'T FIREBREATHING FLYING LIZARDS!

So er...a bit of hurried telling my horse to run and punching the back of is head when it slowed down later, and I can see the nearest city that doesn't consider me to be a fugitive on the lam and generally won't kill me on sight.
Windhelm.

Now Windhelm is the freaking home base of those crazy Stormcloak bastards, and Altmer don't seem to be high on their list of welcome visitors, but they don't shoot me on sight, and thankfully they don't know what happened up Winterhold way.

Good Morning Officer, What seems to be the problem?

Well the local guards don't want me riding my horse up and down the docks, so I dismount and have a look around, maybe I can find a way into the city proper without jumping into the freezing water.

Whats in here I wonder?

So checking out the nearest door that leads in the general direction of the city, I end up in the East Empire Company offices...which are notably sparse of any offices. Or company. Or anything other then a lone Dunmer sweeping in the corner. So looking for directions I get embroiled in his shipping intrigues, with the promise of pay for a transaction list from his competitor.

If by Intrepid, you mean Desperate....

So after that debacle I find my way into Windhelm proper, and immediately seek out a place to sell all the random crap I've gathered.
Sadri's Used Wares is run by a Dunmer, and seems as good a place as any to unload some things. Ugh, I really am associating with their kind too much lately.
And speaking of people I don't want to associate with, I walk into Candlehearth Hall and what do I meet? A man who married his daughter.
Truly this is a blighted land.

Afterward I meet Valla, the best fistfighter in Skyrim or so she claimed.
The fight was pretty even for a while, but when the final blow was landed, the stupid cow up and died.

Thankfully the tavernfolk seemed impressed enough and were tired enough of the whores false claims that they don't get me thrown in another jail.
So I take her gold and her armor and book a room for the night!

Don't mind the mess, it brought it on itself.

Unfortunately as I was wandering around after my good nights sleep, looking to find this logbook for the Dunmer, a bunch of Hired Thugs find me, no doubt sent to keep me from following up on the Dark Elf bastard's job.
Which, as they are decked out in steel and I in fur, means that I grabbed my horse and decided to skip town.
I think I'll head for some greener, less homicidal pastures to the south.

But that is a story for next time on Stupidly Survivalist Skyrim!

BAD REMUTHRA

You don't disable the steam overlay if you want pictures!
YOU USE THE OVERLAY

Just hit F12 (by default) to take a picture, then go into the overlay, hit the "view screenshots" or whatever it's called in the bottom left, and the screenshot manager will pop up. Then you can upload them to the steam cloud, select the picture and hit "view online" and it will pull up a larger picture of it. Then you just right-click, go to "Copy URL link address" or whatever the exact wording is, and paste it directly to the forum, so you don't have to use some middleman like image shack and waste time.
It's a lot more efficient.

That said, +1 to all punching magic.

Nice update!

But if we go south, does that mean we can't freeze to death?  That's no fun.
