Recruit won't put on his uniform???

Hi all,

I'm having trouble getting a single recruit in a squad (made up of only himself) put on his uniform.  I have all pieces available in a stock pile.  His squad has this uniform assigned to it, and set to replace clothing.  He's also set to keep his uniform on when inactive.

I have made him a barracks, and set him to train there, but he only puts on a few pieces of his armor, and keeps his old clothing.

Help?

Give him a station order, that helps sometimes.

Tried that.  He stationed just fine, but didn't change into his uniform.

Is this a known bug?

it's known that they are incredibly slow and just plain idiots when it comes to putting on armor

Sigh.  Ok.  Hopefully I'll figure something out. I really don't want my new recruits to face the naked goblins without their helms.  Last time I tried it, they got their head punched off.

Is this a new uniform? It may be set to "partial match" which has caused this sort of problem for me. You want "exact match"especially if you use the generic "legwear" etc.

I have noticed that if you assign a dwarf to a squad and then change the uniform AFTER he was assigned to the squad, they will ignore the uniform changes. If you remove the dwarf from the squad, make all of the changes to the uniform that you want, and then assign him back into it, he should equip the proper uniform.
