The completed applications are in the op, and as soon as I create a mspaint map of the area, my selection of the six will be revealed.  Any addition to the background of those six will be accepted, and all completed after this point are going on the waitlist.

...

In that case I've added some detail to my background. Hopefully you like it.

Well, then, looks like any idea of normality has been shot.

Nah, he's still pretty normal. Just has an extra plot hook inside of him. It's not like he knows about it, after all.

There are six applications that were completed before the 24 hour cut-off, and of them, I choose all of them, so, without further delay, here is the introduction.

Day 1, All, Hour 2 of Sun Prime, Hour 6 of the Sun of Ralon

Soon after your arrival, the group spread out and searched the area to construct a map of the area.  The small pool to the southeast of the main tower is fairly deep, but there is no evidence of any visible life that would live within water full time inside it, so it might be rainfed.  In the area between it and the path is what appears to be an overgrown garden, possibly having fed the caretakers of the monument when they were still here.

The ruined tower was so far gone that there was no point in mapping it at all, but the collapsed tower was intact enough to warrant a map, despite nothing really in the tower itself besides a staircase that might have led to the roof having been destroyed when the southeast corner collapsed and assorted rubble lying everywhere.

The main tower was somewhat of a disappointment.  From the outside, it appeared to have three stories, but upon entrance through the archway, it became evident that the area housing the obelisk-like silver monument sloped outwards from above the walls that divided the monument room from the other areas, eventually, supposedly, stopping at the roof.

Fortunately, this place appeared to be abandoned in a hurry, because the bedding was still in the quarters where the caretakers slept.  It was somewhat degraded, but at least 7 of the 20 were still serviceable.

A quick check of the area that was likely the dining hall finds that much of the furnature in there has rotted, but 10 of the chairs and 4 of the tables appear to be good enough to not collapse upon immediate use.  Attempts to go down into the cellar are foiled by some stones resting on the apparently locked hatchway down, the wood remaining surprisingly strong in contrast to the rest of the rotting wood found around the area.  However, this doesn't concern any of you too much.  Any food down there is probably rotten, and you have enough supplies to last a couple weeks.

All of your group meets up at the 'center' of the valley, looking up at the mountains that slowly begin to tower over the area, proving this as a valuable defensive position.  A look at the entrance of the valley proves to discover that it is in perfect alignment with the path of the Sun of Ralon, the artificially created self-sustaining sun created by the master mage Ralon which had overexerted him to the point of death, the orbit of which is exactly on the opposite side of the planet as the moon Ceilur.  You turn away from your observations and look towards the rest of the group.  What do you do?

Each turn will be representing 5 minutes of in-game time passing.  Actions that will take longer than 5 minutes will be spread out over multiple turns, with a short description, and a percentage representing how much of the action has been completed.

Since it has been over a day and half, and I do not this game is not killed at the first turn by someone who has not showed up, I am going to relegate SuperBlackCat's application to the waitlist.

Can we cast spells directly in an emergency,  without making it into a scroll?

Nope, you have to use a scroll.
