Both of the starboard cannons are loaded, but you go ahead and try to upgrade one of them anyway.
Well, you kept the cannon from exploding, at least. You aren't sure how much of a difference that made.

You pick up a shell and load the last cannon. The enemy ship is directly above yours, so you can't take a shot.

You take the wheel and spin it to the right. The other ship, however, matches your moves and keeps their ship directly above yours, keeping any shots from taking place. You hear Mikavi come up the ladder, as Tiruin draws her blades and steps outside the control room.

You head up the ladder to the top deck. Tiruin is up here, outside the control room, with her kukris drawn. She looks extremely anxious right now. There is a huge hole in the far wall.

You draw your kukris and step out of the control room. You can see a massive hole in the wall. There doesn't appear to be any obviously identifiable smoke, and the roof is fine. Mikavi comes up from the ladder. You hear something move. You don't know where, but you know you heard something up here.

Ignoring the fact that the Aft Starboard cannon has been knocked to the side and damaged, you attempt to supercharge it.
You miraculously manage to empower the cannon without destroying it.

They make a 90 degree starboard turn, and you follow suit, keeping above them.

Captain Eagle is making sure to keep the ship directly above theirs, so you can't aim low enough to get a shot in. You settle for loading the Fore Port cannon that the Flimsy Engineer empowered earlier.





[Steam Rifle 11/12]

You slink around to the narrow slit in between the Mainspring and the rear wall. You can hear someone draw out a sword from a sheath, and another person is coming up from the ladder. You try to listen in closer, your finely tuned senses giving you almost full knowledge of your surroundings. You can hear one person moving the wheel of the ship from the control room, it almost sounds like they are stepping on... glass? The person who drew the swords, you can tell it was two of them, now, has stepped out of the control room, and seems to be moving slowly towards the hole in the wall that you entered from, you can tell they are crouched down as they move. The person from the ladder is all the way up here now, but hasn't moved from their position. You can hear what sounds like two separate people down on the lower deck. It sounds like normal work down there, no cannons firing from either ship.
You can see now that there is a tiny hole in the back wall, covered up by a handkerchief.

Filled with the thrill of the hunt, you hope to shoot them again! Unfortunately for you, the captain is keeping the ship directly above theirs, and you can't aim the cannon that far down, so you reload your favorite cannon.

For once, a round where no cannons were fired.
Probably because one of the ships are directly above the other.

...A hole? Then a sound...

Tiruin held her swords casually, yet the feeling of her earlier intuitive nudge was present. She felt the hairs on her nape stand as she considered how big this hole was, and why the floor had no damage (or in the least, residue of the offending projectile).

She wondered, and pondered how to treat this notion and concept, then thought about how the others would treat her illogical hypothesis.
But of course, they didn't know that.
But there was the point of them already in danger anyway.
And of course, it would be totally alien to consider but then it would also incite a reaction...


"Boarders! We have boarders in the ship! Boarders on board! Stick to your posts!" Tiruin shouted, feeling her pulse as she wondered how silly it really was. She didn't see anyone, but hopefully this reaction would incite such that her guesses would be-...

C'moon someone attack me...
