Shooting is quiet, remember the description of the gun.

Just because it makes no noise, doesn't mean it isn't detectable. If it's some sort of electromagnetic weapon, for example, shooting it gives off a bunch of non-visible radiation and such.

These people have a padlock on their basement. If there's anything more high-tech than a big dog behind it I'd be surprised.

This is a future where corporations with twenty-four-hour guards lock their secret base thingies with padlocks. We have no idea what's going to happen.

It's surprising how effective a padlock can be, especially if connected to a 25,000 volt power line outside of authorised access hours...

Another great reason to just shoot it.

B. Try to pocket the manager's keys.

You walk back around to the front of the building and enter. You climb up the stairs, onto the catwalk above the workers. You look down at the process. Bins of strange plants are emptied into manually powered threshing machines, which empty into more bins. the strange mulch is thrown into large vats which contain a glowing, boiling mixture. The place smells like some common cooking herb, though you can't decide which one. You don't know much about magic, but you know that it doesn't play well with electronics or engines. You also know that the final product of this refining process is some form of common magical reagent.

The manager approaches you with a smile. It's an uncanny smile that he never drops. You wonder if he even can. He politely asks why you're here.

A. Engage him in polite conversation while attempting to steal the keys.
B. Convince him to come outside.
C. Attempt to seduce the manager.

The workers are busy below, but the catwalks above them are vacant save for you and the manager.

Assassinate him from our relatively secluded spot- people rarely look up, after all- and take his keys. Then get out.

Try to get him to take us to his office. Ask, "I have some information about one of your workers that you might be interested in - is there someplace more private we can talk?"

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..
