Space Station 13 Survival Horror
« on: January 11, 2014, 04:08:49 pm »

Hello, for anyone interested in a role-play on the free byond game SS13 ((  http://www.byond.com/games/Exadv1/SpaceStation13 )) this is a good place to start! I plan on hosting a server several days a week running a modified version of the server "Baystation12"(( http://baystation12.net/wiki/ )). Each session will be played under extended game-mode with many different scenarios and situations that the player will be put into to try and survive. Ranging from attacks from aliens, Meteor Showers, Sand Worms, Syndicate Agents, Space Carp, Space Bears, blob and more! Respawn will be disabled and players are encouraged to work-together. Although in certain situations you may have to hurt or even kill a fellow crew member if they risk the rest of your well beings.. Scenarios range from rescue Ops, to experiments gone wrong, random attacks, structural failures to name a few. There are several races that you can choose from and all will be available at the beginning, along with all classes and skill sets.

So if your interested in surviving and working with fellow players instead of random murder, then this will be for you.

For those interested drop a line here, and we can work out the time and server ip.

We already have a server with regular events, it's called Urist McStation. It's even on the first page.

There's no rule that multiple SS13 servers cannot exist with OPs on one forum.
Anyway, this one uses a different codebase, and I assume will have admin(s?) deliberately forcing events to happen.

Yes, basically we will be acting as Dungeon Masters per se', using the different scripts available to possess NPCs and creating different events for players to interact with.  Each event will be different based on whats going on, so essentially every round can be unique, with a different type of scenario. Plus the players can actually converse with centcom HQ and various other things to create a more realistic experience.

For those that arnt familiar with the Baystation12 Code - it has other Player Races that people can choose, I believe its 6 total including human. Each has various strengths and weaknesses, it also adds a very detailed combat system.. Bones can break, organs can be punctured and you can bleed out unless given the proper medical care. Within the wiki is where you will find various guides on how to use proper medical useage which will indeed come in handy in any survival situation. Generally Baystation12 code has alot of features that make survival on a space station more gritty.

Same thing happens on the other one. :P

EDIT: Don't mean to sound rude, but didn't you just post the exact same thread in FGaRP?

We have a roleplay SS13 server...
This is a server where there is actually a GM similar to PnP games I believe. Not at all the same as the 24/7 random round based roleplay typical of SS13.

That is, actually, quite like our server. We don't run events 24/7, but we have about five gamemasters that all love running events. Still, I am quite interested in how this develops.
