The Vault Dwellers

Quote from: Cromwell
Move to G7 [-1]
Fire 10mm Colt at Legion Recruit 2 [-4]
Fire 10mm Colt at Legion Recruit 2 [-4]
End Turn [9/10]

The man’s knife flew out of his hand as your first bullet hit home, the useless leftover tube of flesh dangling as the man looked down at it in shock. He was out of the fight, but he’d tried to kill you. Common courtesy dictated you do the same. It was only polite.

“What?” The man asked his stump

*BLAM*

It was only polite.

Quote from: Kyle
Move to A10 [-6]
Beat it! [-1]
End Turn [7/8]

You could barely stand, yet you managed to run away using the last of your strength. You don’t know how long you ran for before you collapsed. All you could do would be wait and hope that your friends won the fight. If not, the legion would find you…

Quote from: Kyle’s Rolls
No rolls…

Quote from: Kira
Fire 9mm SMG burst at Legion Recruit 1 [-5]
Fire 9mm SMG burst at Legion Recruit 3 [-5]
End Turn [10/10]

The first burst went spectacularly well with the pink cloth getting stained with red by the many bullets hitting the recruit though you could swear one of the further recruits also flinched in pain twice. You smirked as your intended target fell down dead. That’d teach him to threaten your group.

The second burst… was a little harder to hold onto due to the sweatiness of your hand. You managed, at the last second, to correct the recoil into a different target though both of the recruits you had hit stayed standing. Damn...

Quote from: Kira’s Rolls
Fire 9mm SMG burst at Legion Recruit 1
Chance to Hit: 85 – 15 – 2 = 68%

Fire 9mm SMG burst at Legion Recruit 3
Chance to Hit: 85 – 15 = 70%

Roll [2]: 93 [Crit Failure – 41] Target Changed to Legion Recruit 4, This attack misses

Crit Failure – Fire 9mm SMG burst at Legion Recruit 4

Roll [4]: 24 [Hit] [-4]
Roll [5]: 55 [Hit] [-5]

Quote from: Selina
Fire 10mm Colt at Man in White [-5]
Stab Man in White with Knife [-3]
End Turn [8/9]
+1 AC until end of next turn

Your shot hit, though it wasn’t as useful as you would have liked considering the Man in White barely reacted to it at all and instead grabbed your hand to prevent a second shot. His mistake, your knife slid into his stomach rather easily despite his armor.

“Stupid mutant!” He shouted as he shoved you away, his white clothing turning red swiftly.

You hated hurting people but these guys… Who could possibly shove off a gunshot and a knife wound like it was nothing?
Quote from: Selina’s Rolls
Fire 10mm Colt at Man in White
Chance to Hit: 95 – 16 = 79%
Roll: 50 [Hit] [-4]

Stab Man in White with Knife
Chance to Hit: 90 – 16 = 74%
Roll: 65 [Hit] [-5]

Quote from: Dirk
Access Inventory [-4] [Switch Shotgun out for 9mm Mauser]
End Turn [4/8]
+4 AC gained until next turn

*Click* *Click*

“FUCK!” You shout out as you drop your shotgun to the ground. Obviously not good for it, but the Man in White ramming his Machete through your friends is even worse for them. You swiftly try to pull your Mauser from your pack. Unfortunately you don’t have enough time to line up a shot. You only hope you have enough time to save your friends.

Try to patch myself up.

That'll take five minutes... So basically just remind me you said that when combat ends and I'll do it then.

((I can post for myself I guess!))

Selina starts attempting to stab the Man In White more, kinda losing it in fear and panic at this point.

Switch to knife, take a step forward and shank Recruit 3. If he dies and Kira still has AP, take a step forward and shank Recruit 4 too.

The Vault Dwellers

Quote from: Dirk
Fire at Man in White [-5] [9mm Mauser]
End Turn [5/8]
3 AC added until next turn

Taking careful aim at the Man in White you fire a shot at him… At least you had intended to. Instead the gun fall apart in your hands. What the hell? Damn thing was so sturdy a bit ago!

Quote from: Dirk’s Rolls
Fire 9mm Mauser at Man in White
Chance to Hit: 95 – 16 = 79%
Roll: 99 [Crit Failure – 14] Gun Falls apart

Quote from: Kira
Move to E6 [-1]
Stab Legion Recruit 3 [-2] [Knife]
Move to E5 [-1]
Stab Legion Recruit 4 [-2] [Knife]
End Turn [6/10]
+4 AC until next turn

You get the feeling that the first man you stabbed wasn’t quite prepared for you to rush him like you did. Obviously new to this whole ‘fighting’ thing… Or maybe he was surprised that a woman could do so much damage to a legionnaire. You don’t know why the second thought crossed your mind. Probably because he said:

”How could a woman harm a legionnaire?” just before he expired.

The second man was a bit more of a challenge. He grabbed your hand before you could drive your blade into his sternum. He was strong, you had no doubt about that. Far stronger than you in fact as he easily overpowered you and threw you to the ground.

”Die dissolute!” he said happily as he raised his leg to stomp on your throat.

He learned what a bad idea that was when he felt your knife pierce his testicles. Dropping to the ground in pain he didn’t have much time to bemoan his fate as his neck was the next thing pierced.

Standing back up you didn’t have much time to do anything else than drop into a defensive stance.

Quote from: Kira’s Rolls
Stab Legion Recruit 3
Chance to Hit: 90 – 15 = 75%
Roll: 2 [Crit – x2 Damage] [-10] [Kill]

Stab Legion Recruit 4
Chance to Hit: 90 – 15 – 1 = 74%
Roll: 54 [Hit] [-5] [Kill]

Quote from: Cromwell
Fire at the Man in White [-4] [10mm Colt]
Fire at the Man in White [-4] [10mm Colt]
End Turn [8/10]
+2 AC added until next turn

The Man in White is more agile than you’d like. He managed to turn your first kill shot into an arm shot, and the second he turned into a shoulder shot.

“Not bad! You make a fine opponent!” He shouted aloud as he laughed. You had the feeling that you’ve made a new friend. Or at least you would have, if not for Selina…

Quote from: Cromwell’s Rolls
Fire 10mm Colt at Man in White
Chance to Hit: 95 – 16 = 79%
Roll: 57 [Hit] [-4]

Roll: 29 [Hit] [-5]

Quote from: Selina
Stab Man in White [-3]
Stab Man in White [-3]
End Turn [6/9]
+3 AC added until next turn

You saw the Man in White begin his advance, obviously towards Cromwell, but your panic filled mind didn’t see that. All you saw was a demon trying to kill your friend. “NO!” You shouted as you dashed towards the man in a flying tackle that was reminiscent of one you had seen in one of the old football holotapes. The Man in White seemed so shocked at this that he was unable to remain standing despite being much taller and burlier than you.

“NO ONE DIES!” You first stab caught the edge of his throat causing a geyser of blood “NO ONE!” The second plunged between his eyes stopping his protests “NO ONE! NO ONE! NO ONE!” Each sentence punctuated by a stab.

After a few moments you stood, covered in blood, as you examined the man’s face… There was no way to tell what he might have looked like while alive.

Quote from: Selina’s Rolls
Stab Man in White
Chance to Hit: 92 – 16 = 76%
Roll: 13 [Hit] [-1]

Stab Man in White
Chance to Hit: 92 – 16 = 76%
Roll: 53 [Hit] [-1] [Kill]

The Legion’s Turn

Quote from: Legion Recruit 5
Stab Kira [-3] [Knife]
Stab Kira [-3] [Knife]
End Turn [6/7]
+1 AC gained until next turn

Your entire squad has died, but if you manage to bring the heads of those responsible to your Decanus you will bring much glory to the Legion as well as be advanced to more worthwile assignments. Obviously, the best place to start would be the one who had defeated the most of your squad.

”Come dissolute!” you cry as you charge the one wearing the beret. She barely managed to block your first attempt to slash her, but it wasn’t important. That was just to get you close. Grabbing her arm you flung her to the ground as roughly as you could. Learning from your comrades misfortune you attempted to stab her in the chest. Unfortunately she was far to agile for you to hit the proper spot.

She rolled out of the way of your first swing, getting a large but shallow cut, before she hopped to her feet.

No problem, you final swing punctured her leg lightly. Not enough to kill, or even to maim… But certainly enough to hurt.

Quote from: Recruit 5’s Rolls
Stab Kira with Knife
Chance to Hit: 95 – 18 – 4 = 73%
Roll: 66 [Hit] [-5]

Well… That was a bit of flavor text. Too far with the ball stabbing? I felt like it might have been too far but that’s just how it happened in my mind.

Also: Congratulations to Selina for getting her first kill!

Shank Recruit 5 like a bitch.

((Well, that was an interesting battle. I'd put points into melee given how effective Kira has been with her knife, but she isn't built for that sort of thing...))
