Selina distributes the ammo and extra caps to everyone, then gives the jackets to Kyle Dirk and Kira.

"Maybe we should try around the other vault...?"

"Assuming that they're still in the area," Kira asks, grunting as she accepts the ammo, caps and jackets.

[[Time: 1000 (10:00 AM) January 16th] Day 5]]

“Hey guys I uh.. .Bought some ammo and leather jackets from the vault armory.” Selina said after a few moments of walking towards Vault-225.

“Awesome!” Kyle said as he examined the Leather Jacket. It was just his size! Sure it was missing an arm but it looked pretty cool.

“Why the leather jackets though? Seems like a waste of… Wait… How’d you buy anything?” Dirk asked.

“Oh, Jenny gave me a bunch of bottle caps to stand for currency. Some weird thing the Overseer set up. I… Well I figured the Jackets would blend in better than our blue jumpsuits.”

“Right you are.” Kira stated as she took one of the jackets “Should help protect us a bit too. Mind if I keep this one?”

“Sure. Here, everyone take some of these caps. It’ll give us something to remember home by.”

After the group ‘suited up’ they began walking. The leather was surprisingly comfortable and not as bad for heat as they’d imagined. Surprisingly it was several hours before anything interesting happened.

That interesting thing being a small group of mutated scorpions.

“Shit! Is everything around here giant?” Kyle moaned as he readied his weapons.

“What are you doing?” Kira asked annoyed.

“They’re going to see or sense us or something. There’s no way we’ll get past them without them noticing.”

“Hey, aren’t scorpions generally docile?” Dirk asked. He didn’t know if it was true or not, but he figured saying it might help them not get attacked.

“Maybe?” Selina said unsure.

“Well let’s just sneak around regardless.” Was Cromwell’s contribution.

However just at that time, as though a cosmic force was punishing the Vault Dwellers for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, a large rock fell over drawing the Scorpions attention.

“Fuck, I knew it!”

Like I said, I’ll generally assume you reload your weapons during travel. IF you are unarmored I will assume you want to put on the most convenient piece of armor. IF YOU ARE ALREADY WEARING ARMOR YOU MUST TELL ME YOU’RE SWAPPING!

Also, you guys seem to have an affinity for getting into trouble on this square… odd…

Fire at Scorpion 1, unless it's already dead by the time I get to fire.
If it's dead, fire at scorpion 2 and move to E6.

Kyle’s inexperience with small guns as well as the Radscorpions natural camouflage in the dimness prevented him from landing a shot.

Selina took careful aim and planted a 10mm round directly onto the Radscorpion’s claw. Unfortunately the bullet ricocheted off the hard chitin dealing no damage.

Even Cromwell’s experience wasn’t enough to get his first shot to connect. The skittering creatures were just too dark to be sure where they were. Thankfully, the second shot Cromwell sent its way caused the creature’s skittering to cease.

Kira let loose a burst of fire from her SMG. After a few rounds did nothing but kick up dust she readjusted her aim to drill the bullet home into one of the radscorpions. Soon two of the creatures were laying still, only twitching. The second kill was a pure accident, but Kira wasn’t about to complain.

Accuracy was for plebians. At least if you had a shotgun like Dirk. Pointing it in the vague direction of the scorpions Dirk fired. He was immediately rewarded by one of the creatures exploding into a cloud of blood and chitin.

I shouldn't have to tell everyone that we might as well conserve ammo and knife this thing to death.
