Oh, way less than half. Probably closer to 25%, or even 10%. And there for a while, I had much lower standards than I do now. There are a lot of really ugly people out there.

I know I'm Heterosexual, all the way. I just have really bad luck and ways of finding someone to be with.

I've been told that I'm not ugly but its one of those things when no one would go out with you on a date, I just think I am not attractive in any way.

On a lighter note, I had met a few gay guys and I really dont care if they're gay to the point where I'm surprised they're gay. It's to the point where even when I hear a guy with the stereotypical voice ( I only heard it on comedy shows/movies before), I just thought he had a speech impediment.

Also where I grew up, I had one of the most twisted political/social landscapes you could possibly have without a war. It was to the point where one of the girls I had more serious feelings for was bisexual. She couldn't believe that I really didn't care that she was bi. At the previous school she came from she was bullied because of it, I just think it was the shock of somebody that really didn't think it was wrong really threw her off.

With that, I do have a over-protective streak in me. I try to be the white knight and try to protect everyone I know but fail miserably because I dont know how to go about it; including that I dont have a good feel for social environments probably killed a lot of potential romances for me. I just feel at this point, I have a better chance of winning the Powerball and Mega Millions at the same time (mega lottery jackpot games that you have a better chance of getting struck by lighting than winning one for reference for non-US members) than ever finding someone, and yes I know it's kinda of a destructive mindset but I rather not be disappointed any more than I am now with my love life.

Guess I've got a different take on this than a lot in here. I'm a firm believer in the value of (responsible) recreational, non-monogamous sex. That's a realization that I've only come to in the last couple of years, and its been an epiphany. The whole hook-up thing just really wasn't a cultural norm when I was in college, and I was still too much the "white knight" to have participated back then anyways.

I think a lot of people are trying to be good people and look for The One right out of the gate, which can be incredibly frustrating and demoralizing. It seems like a betrayal of all the love stories in history to say this, but:

Don't look for your soulmate. Look for someone to have some fun and mutual enjoyment with. Love is what happens when you find that person that you enjoy being with more than anyone else, even when you're not naked.

I really don't consider physical attractiveness to be too big a deal even when it comes to sex. It's nice, sure, but who I want to bang generally hinges on personality... I'd totally do the Hunchback of Notre Dame. What I really want is an exchange of affection (and fluids).

Now, I am sometimes shallow and am wanting some stereotypically "hot" person, and that's why porn is great. It's even better when I have someone to help me at the same time, so I get the eye candy AND the proper touch.

Well, as an asexual bi-romantic that lives in an area where "rape them straight" is an appropriate reaction towards someone not being heterosexual.

Stupidelves, that sounds awful. Is that place you're talking about in the USA? I mean, I understand how you can have this sort of thinking in rural Eastern Europe, or Africa, or Asia, but none of these places have people using the word "hick".

Those numbers are also entirely subjective. I, personally, tend to have very high external beauty standards, probably because I've never found anyone I could love for her personality, but some of my friends are perfectly happy being in relationships with quite homely people.
