From my observations, the mix of emotion and sex is a very unique thing for people.

Yes, this is a huge thing. For me? Sex is just sex, I don't even particularly consider it romantic. What I do consider romantic though? Doing stuff like what I do with Olwga all the time. We sit around and hang out mostly, spend time watching and commenting on silly videos, come up with RP and story stuff for fun. Stuff I know most people consider just friendship.

But for me, how close and inseparable we are through this is romantic. I can't even stand being away from her if she has to go to the bathroom, it's a lot nicer if I go wait by the door for her to finish. She's pretty much the same way too, so I guess somehow I lucked out and found someone absolutely perfect for me.

She also has freaking amazing thighs. I just feel I should add that.

I am not sure that I could find a bigger wrench to throw into the sex-equation than being trans. Between living as a confused, anti-social teen who felt as comfortable around other people as I did around myself, living a crappy childhood, and submitting myself to a second puberty (woo that was fun let's do that again), I couldn't see myself getting intimate with anyone. Not for a long time, maybe even accounting for surgery.

EDIT: I am pansexual minus all of these complications.

Actually I can say that this is also a thing with my partner and myself. We spend a lot more time just sort of hanging out in a way a lot more typical of a friendship than I have in my past relationships. It is nice, not everything having to be some great big romantic gesture to try and keep the relationship going, but instead just enjoying each others company.

I'm starting to think that this is the secret to a good relationship. Just...enjoying each others' company, even if you're not doing anything in particular.

Holy crap, why did I not start watching One Punch Man earlier? This is the best thing.

... there's a different definition for a good relationship? I... I thought that was it. Getting along when just getting along. That's when you're good, innit?

I guess a decent simplification is that a friend is someone you want to be around for a few hours, and a romantic partner is someone you want to be around literally all the time.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

But the point is that I have had, in the past, considerably less gratifying relationships where although we acted like a romantic couple and did all the standard stuff you expect in a shitty movie, we never really acted like friends. Everything was always about reenacting some romantic scene, there was never time to just hang out normally.
I think in a healthy relationship the big romantic acts are good, but just acting like friends and finding that romantic is important.

I put down bisexual since I didn't read the asexual part. Woops.

I am asexual, and bi-romantic. Though I have only ever dated one member of the opposite sex, I have had romantic feelings for both sexes.

Seeing how I am russian and still alive, I'm heterosexual.

At least I think I am.

Does BDSM count as a independent sexuality?

No, that's just a fetish, or personal preference.

Me too. It's great how the forum of people who have come together over the fact that they are interested in a game called "Slaves to Armok: God of Blood, Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress", regarded as a game that is completely insane and rather sadistic at times are some of the most civil forum-goers I have ever met.
