Hormones have a huge effect on prenatal development.  You're genes only account for part of your sexual development.  Androgen insensitivity syndrome will cause a genetically male person to be more feminine than most "normal" females.  It also throws a wrench in the way we think of sex and gender.

Well I have heard of female transsexuals who found themselves a lot more attracted to men during HRF... Not sure about male transsexuals as I have never had any sort of in-depth discussion on the topic with one.

There's a few apatheists on this forum. Which is good. If everyone couldn't be bothered to back up their beliefs to anyone else, the world would be a much simpler place and also probably would have no humans on it.

The banal assertion you jokingly made is made from ignorance.  An atheist would rip them to shreds.
Nah. Most people don't know what they're talking about, and repeat viewpoints; Atheists are only people, so they are as capable of ignorance as anyone.

.. That happens to me every time I see "Therapist".

Only the most twisted kind of irony makes a word intended to describe somebody trying to help another, look like the words used to describe a person who forcibly violates another.

Therapist
The Rapist

My brain. It disturbs me at times.

Misko--

This is true, however, many (but certainly far from all) have a vested interest in continuing self-education, simply because they are continually subjected to such lines of questioning.

An ex-friend of the family wouldn't go and see his therapist because of that. Ex-friend because he stole things from my dad when he was supposed to be house sitting among other things.

Indeed. But I like to think that if you aren't smart enough to sell it to yourself, you're probably an Agnostic with opinions larger than your beliefs.

Allegedly arabic has dozens of words for specific types of camels. English has one: camel. Because we don't care about camels enough to have that many words to describe them.

I think I look forward to sexuality and sexual identity becoming unimportant enough that I don't need to consult urban dictionary to figure out what people are talking about when they describe themselves.

We DO have different words for different kinds of horse though.

Dapple, Palamino, Paint, Arab, et al.

Likewise with cats:
Siamese, Maine coon, Persian, Tabby, Calico, Tortoise shell....

In japanese, there are dozens of words for "blue". We have them too--
Azure, Indigo, turquoise, ultramarine, cerulean....

You get the idea.

Just because we havent adopted or implemented a bunch of specific words for specific types of camel, does not mean that we dont see or respect the difference between the camels.

EG, if we didnt have a specific noun for a horse with blotchy patches of color on it, (Paint), we would just say "Hey, Mine's got blotchy splashes of color on it." rather than saying "Hey, Mine's a paint."

Same is true for describing different sexual orientations. If we didnt call a homosexual a "gay", we would instead say something coarse and crass like "That guy we know that bangs other guys."

Not having a word for something doesn't mean the population doesn't care about it. It just means they have a shrunken vocabulary.

No, I think there is certainly some truth in that the more subtlety available in a language reflects the interest. We are rather interested in cats for example. There certainly are differences, even if a language doesn't express them, but it doesn't change the fact that the population simply doesn't feel the need to specify one type of a camel over another often enough for it to be an issue.

Maybe the goal is having the words be so common that you don't need to look them up.
You just know them.
