Just getting started with Letsplaying.
« on: January 08, 2014, 11:52:44 pm »

Alright, for a guy who's been wanting to do Letsplays ever since he was 10 years of age (And created quite a few shoddy videos at that.), well 7 years later I've decided to put the nail in that indecisive coffin and actually start out! So, this thread will be for the letsplays that I do. (Hurray for shameless plugs!)

Anyway, lets get to it! I need to figure out a game to letsplay, more importantly, a game that you guys would like to see me letsplay.

A couple of games that I've been thinking about:

1. Dwarf Fortress (Of course. :P )
2. Europa Universalis 4
3. Crusader Kings II
4. Space Station 13
5. Reus
6. Kerbal Space Program

Those six are the games off the top of my head, if there are any other games you would be interested in me trying out, just let me know!

You could try "Don't Starve". It's this wonderful little game of survival in a very bizarre, nonsensical world.
There's always the dozens of "Garry's Mod" stuff to try. Even if most of it's garbage.
"FTL: Faster Than Light" is another good one to try, as is "Gratuitous Space Battles", although it's a little less well known.
If you're a fan of multiplayer games, then "Guns of Icarus Online" is a nice one that doesn't follow the normal multiplayer game types.

Good luck with this, by the way!

As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

Ah yes, luckily I have all of those which would make recording them easier!

I happen to have livestreamed FTL quite a bit with moderate success and it was really fun, so I'll have to revisit that one in lp form. Don't Starve I've actually lped a little of (Maybe 30 minutes worth?) but that never got anywhere. GSB is also a rather interesting game and would definitely make for an interesting experience in trying to figure out the best design for your ship, which I've always had problems with. :P

Thanks, that means a lot to me! :)

For GSB, My main strategies usually consisted of either massive amounts of ion cannons or missile spam.
Also, if you play as the terrans, and take their smallest fighter, and put absolutely nothing on it except the lightest engine, then it will have absolutely ridiculous speed, and everything will have a very hard time hitting them, they can't attack, but they make a nice distraction.

That fighter thing sounds like a great Idea, I think I actually might have the expansions for it as well... Hm, I think I might go with GSB as the first game I lets play!

I could suggest something like Space Rangers 2, if only because it's nigh impossible to see a good blind LP of it anywhere.
