Possessed dwarf won't take items.

Sorry for all the posts on here, noob to the game.

So one of my dwarves is possessed, and he's muttering about stone and cloth.  He won't get it from the stockpiles though.  There is plenty of stone and cloth in the fortress, but they won't get it.

What should I do?

1. If he has a preference for a specific kind of stone/cloth, it is possible that he desires that, and only that particular kind of stone/cloth.

2.Also, cloth can mean plant cloth, yarn cloth or silk cloth. For a dwarf in the mood, those are not interchangeable.

3. Does he demand anything else? Dwarves in strange moods will not try to grab anything they need: their needs are ordered and if your dwarf, for example, demands cut gems and stone and cloth, and you don't have cut gems, he will not get anything else.

Moody dwarves are picky about cloth. I've lost many a promising craftdwarf mood to my reluctance to grab a few bins of trade before I have my industries up.

If it's silk you might be out of luck unless you have some webs in the caverns you can reach safely. If it's yarn use a farmer's workshop to shave some animals.

Don't worry about it. Seems that what showmood shows for cloth tends to randomly select in either units of 1 (wants 3 cloth) or units of 10,000 (wants 30,000 cloth). The units of 10,000 is a result of how bandages are accounted for. A single stack of cloth will produce 10,000 wound dressings. So that possessed dwarf merely wants 3 cloth.
