When a salt quadruped entered the caverns while the local fortifications were undergoing some rearrangements, the soldiers had to stop it before it reached the civilians. Astesh was the first to contact the beast. He kicked it, and broke off some tissue; it kicked him, and jammed his skull into his brain. He died in the same place as the tick devils he had slain many years before.

Now he (and his arms, retrieved from the cavern) rests in a platinum sarcophagus within a finely engraved tomb, like the other champions of Wirejade.
