My current run is taking a bit of time, so I just wanted to know.

Yes, unless they are dogs.

...out of curiosity, why don't dogs die of old age?

Their programming marks them as a certain creature type or something. Genetic Monsters and Tanks also never die of old age, but are much more difficult (Impossible?) to recruit.

Dogs do age, you can see their age on their stat screen, usually 2-6 or something. They'll just never die of old age. Which is nice, because I wouldn't want to have to deal with my dog assassination squad dying at 15 or whatever.

Hahaha, I don't know, there was a thread where this all came up I'm just reciting what I remember. I'm not even exactly sure at what age one might expect a human to die. It's never happened to me.

Genetic monsters can be recruited, or at least they could a few versions ago. I fondly remember brainwashing one and giving it an AK.

Yes, you can still recruit dogs and genetic monsters, and they act just as humans would.

Speaking of tanks, I know people used to be able to recruit them, but is it still possible to get tanks as members? If not I really think they should be able to be recruited (somehow).

I had a sleeper soldier expand the sleeper network and recruit a tank a loooong time ago. I'm not sure if that's still possible. (I beat the game before I got the chance to make the tank active, but could you imagine a tank with a knife stealth killing people? I want it)

When human characters reach 75 or so, they start getting periodic Health tests. If they succeed, nothing happens. If they fail, Health decreases by one. They die of old age if this reduces their Health to zero.

That is probably the only way to recruit tanks currently.  They're immune to music, too dangerous to kidnap (although maybe if they're near death, but I think the current version that only works if an opponent drops a weapon), and don't respond when you talk to them.
