Tribulations in Magic: The Age of The Murderous Hippopotamus.
« Reply #2529 on: July 06, 2015, 08:58:36 am »

Turn 122

PM sent.

[Flimsy spd:6-1-1=4]
[Hippo spd:6]

The pounding from the crazy hippo continues as the head of the poor Wizard suffers the consequences:

[Hippo dex:5-1=4]
[Flimsy dex:3-1-2-1=-1]

[Hippo str:6+1=7]

Crack! It is heard as both of the hippopotamus' legs meet the poor fellow's face. Crack! Here goes another one, the cracks deepening and becoming wider. The Wizard's vision becomes even more fuzzy, as the typical effect of wearing broken glasses joins his already spinning vision. Crack! It is heard again, and, while the Wizard can feel no pain due to his diamond transformation, the desperation of being unable to do anything other than receiving hit after hit, and the beast using most of his weight to crush his head are too much for him. He shakes his head, wiggles uncontrollably, but to no result, as the diamond beast is standing right over him. Crack! The crippled Wizard's vision then fades into an almost nothing but a myriad of cracks, some of them reflecting light in a way that some colors can even be seen. They are pretty, or at least they seem so when they make your forget the incessant pounding. Pretty, pretty colors.

CRACK!

The legs of the beast this time go through the head of the WIzard, and it shatters instantly. The hippo then steps back, and looks at every direction, as if with a sudden attack of paranoia. A slim line of white smoke comes out of the diamond body's chest, and slowly drifts towards the hippo. Upon contact, though, the hippo stops his surveillance, and just closes its diamond eyes, extending its head upwards in a weird sense of joy, pure ecstasy going through his mind.

The Flimsy Wizard is dead. The Murderous Hippo gains a stat point.

But soon the sensation ends, and the hippo finds itself wishing for more, and it begins looking around. Even without one of its back legs, it still manages to stand pretty well, now with more confidence.

The fire shark just flops around, not managing to do much. Its flames become weaker every second.

Continue Sciencing!

Science for the Science God! Wait, are a you Tzeenchian follower or something?

[Pot:2]
You get a shard of something white. It is unnaturally cold.

[Pot:3]
The nothingness is fired away, but you can't quite discern to where.

[Pot:4]
The nothingness is disturbed just in the exact place below yourself.

[Pot:5]
Your left arm glows, but the glow soon fades away, as the magic found nothing to do.

[Pot:6]
Your right arm glows, this time with more intensity, but otherwise it soon stops to do so, much like what just happened to your other arm.

[Pot:6]
The nothingness is fired in the direction of the portal, whose ever-changing colors had attracted your thoughts once more.

PM

More science!

[Pot:3]
[End:3-1=2]
You suddenly hear an ear-piercing noise! It doesn't let you think properly! You stop doing science bcause you got the effects of [Sonic resonance I] this turn.

Quote from: Beirus
PM

The tribal fiend steps out of the Greenhouse Room, towards the NE hallway. There, it opens its mouth, and, as the multitude of shadow creatures across his body laugh with joy, Robert lets out a great:

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR

Nana Nana Nana Nana Nana Nana Nana Nana  MAG MAN

"Oh you lil' shit."

RIGHTEO

Now that we're back to 100% groove & funk it's time to get ready for Challenge mode!

I AM HELPING A TEAMMATE!!!!!

[Thrakor spd:4]
[Derm spd:4+1=5]
[TNI spd:2]
[Bigf01t spd:5]

Bigf01t is happily improving himself:

[Pot:4+1=5]
His chest transformation goes off, and, just as his chest is made of flesh again, he begins to glow again, the magic totally under his control this time. He activates it...

And he flashes with light, revealing now a steel skeleton in a spiky jacket, also made of steel. A steel chain is wrapped around him, but for some reason he doesn't seem to be able to move it. Cold orange flames envelop the skull of this thing, somehow not affecting Bigf01t's vision.

He then realizes it, for that he has become, the Ghost Rider.

Oh, and he also has enhanced control over steel, but who cares.

Steel-controlling Ghost Rider:
[Smooth surface]
[Yields]
You can control steel!

Meanwhile, the fight continues, and Derm quickly moves into the pool of water, disturbing the otherwise calm liquid. He then attempts to cast a spell:

[Derm pot:5+1=6]
[Thrakor dex:1]

Derm looks at the floor below Thrakor's feet and says some words, transmuting it into a pool of gasoline!

BOOM!

Both of Thrakor's magma legs are blown off by the huge explosion! What is even worse is that he can't even get to hug Derm without risking to lose much energy due to the water.

-2 to dex and speed for lacking legs!
You are permanently [On ground]

What is good is that the explosion had so much energy that Thrakor didn't lose any this turn.

Not Igor, recently made into a dragon, casts a huge spell:

[TNI pot:1]
[TNI end:4]
But he is suddenly stopped by a roar, accompanied by some kind of feedback, so strong that it doesn't let him think any more!

You had [Sonic resonance I] for the rest of the turn.

Damn it!

Cranky the Tanky appears in he Grand Room. Blood from unknown origins drips from his fists.

This was the worst way to die.
The worst in the sense that it could have been perfectly evaded. But there are worse, way worse ways to die.
