I suggest disabling lobby chat but turning it back on for fights. Occasionally you actually get someone trying to organize things in it.

Lobby chat is sometimes alright, like most general ingame chats. The rest of the time it is spam and arguments and the occasional 'gib code plz'.

So, the Pit is here. Hub is not yet here. The Pit is a first to 20 points FFA 16 bot match. Or an 8 megabot match. People who are on killstreaks are worth extra points, the leader gets to show up in goldish. Respawns are set at 5 seconds, kills give instant heals, and killstealing is a thing. No leaving penalty, but the winner (and only the winner) gets a 5x multiplier to their rewards.

Along with assorted other things like updating practice mode with new armed bots, renaming it, and adding a mini test area for maneuvering tests.

Edit: Even in the pit rail can pull off a win! 17 kills, 1 death, sweet victory.

Yeah, even my T10 equivalent only gets about 10k if I don't win a battle. Makes it very difficult to upgrade my bot at this point. And it needs it badly, since I haven't logged in in months and my poor Frigate doesn't handle as well with some of the changes they've made. It needs a good redesign and upgrade to a few parts.

I had good fun trying out the Helicopters. Last time I played 'Copters weren't in yet.

For some reason, I'm playing worst with Rails than I used before. I have a T8-equivalent Plasma Copter and a T8-equivalent Rail Walker.
I used to get 5+ kills but now that happens so rarely.

I think the new ranking system might be the cause. 1 million - 3 million "ranking points" bots seem to be matchmaked together, making my Mk8 Rails not do the amazing damage it used to do when bots were more fairly matched.

Just look at this frontal shielding.
I bet you're scared at those Mk4 Shields, aren't you?

I'm so lazy I don't even change my crappy armor for the best ones I have available.

It's really fun playing with the helo, because I can use any tactic or strategy. I usually start a round by going "Apache Style" - flying low, popping up and attacking and then taking cover as I reload.
And when playing aggressively, being able to move in all directions is really good to dodge, and helicopters "drift", which is not only stylish and awesome, it gives an advantage against ground units.
Unfortunately, interceptors can end my fun if I can't hit them first. No amount of Tokyo Drifting and epic aiming can make up for the lag that enemy jets have on my end.

I'm waiting for them to stop locking one mode or the other behind an arbitrary RR wall. Or at least make the 'single player' mode rewards not completely shit.

Yeah. If I were to take Robocraft seriously, I'd really get mad.
But I only play it casually every few months, build whatever nets me the most kill/fun, and drop it.

What I find weird is that there are some seriously dumb people on T8 Equivalent matches. Those used to be rather cool and balanced, but now there's a lot of people facetanking the whole enemy team, not taking cover, flying directly inside enemy bases and stuff like that.

I don't follow Robocraft enough to make any sense of all the weirdness that come at every major update. But I guess it's just better that way.
