Decoy limbs that only have like one or two guns, possibly sub-tier guns

that could work up to a point. in t10 where your limit is cpu, a t9 gun is a copious waste of it

I want to build big and tough, but the cpu limit gets in the way.

I scarped my old tier 5-6 smg cruiser in order to use the armor on my now tier 5 plasma tank.  Now its all orange armor with the front end being pink and blue armor.  Its still basically a brick with guns, treads, and tread skirts, but it works a bit better than my old cruiser.

Legs appear to have no real upper limit.  When they're 'over weight' they just remain in the crouched position.  It allows for some ridiculously heavy climbers.

yea, I can see how that works, the legs prevent the bot from being consider on a steep surface while the wheels still can move on a solid surface.

Overburdened legs also move slower, but that hardly limits a tank, right?

Treads can move a full speed regardless of weight as long as its on a solid surface...at least that I what I'm assuming is going on based on the video.

He's got two T10 treads - I suspect treads have no weight limit, but I'd guess he's under any limit with that sort of power.

For the most part, it is untrue.

Legs DO slow you down, but by a small amount. And only because you are using treads. At least that's my experiance... It might not really be the case and treads are able to counteract the legs limitations.

Treads definitely don't give a hoot about how heavy your bot is though. Full speed all the way... I don't even think there is significant difference in speed between tread tiers, but I might be wrong about that.

Treads and legs don't work well together in tandem.  They work well the way that guys used them - he holds shift so that the legs aren't doing anything, as they go into 'crouch' mode and lift off the ground because their attachment point is so high.  He's not even trying to make a real hybrid vehicle, like a halftrack, he's made a treaded tank that has a climbing aide.

legs work well with tiny wings. just jump, fire thrusters and glide faster than any other tank.
