I also spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out why having thrust at the front rather than the back works better, but couldn't (I kept getting that it shouldn't), so I'm glad to hear that it doesn't.

It could also be that the driver is a robot that mimics your movements, and your character is actually still sitting in the vehicle in your ship, which functions as a sort of simulator.

That's still not a robot, though.

Or the driver is simply a stand-alone robot. Wouldn't be the first game where you play as a robot.

If a robot is piloting a vehicle, that doesn't make the vehicle a robot.

The game already has a CPU limit based on our XP, so I think replacing the pilot seat with a computer component would be enough to put the "Robo" in RoboCraft.  So we are then an AI that designs robot vehicles and uploads a copy of itself into them.

There are 2 explanations really

1) These vehicles aren't real and you are piloting them in cyberspace to prove their superiority. The real ones will later be run by AI.

2) These aren't robots.

But maybe the pilot is welded to and interfaced with the vehicle, so it's basically just a computer with moving arms for fun.

The robots actually won't function if they thing they don't have a pilot. A legacy from when they actually were manually controlled, and needed to not run without an operators hand on the controls, for safety.

The pilot seat is actually a crash test dummy. Or a prisoner.

Robocraft now has a wiki, it's currently rather messy and may not be completely accurate, but it will hopefully improve over time. It also gives some background information, such as the fact that the red and blue teams are competing companies and the battles seem to be controlled. (Apparently the boss battles are considered to be illegal.) This lend credence to the theory that you don't actually pilot the bots, instead merely designing them and fighting remotely, or even that the battle system is actually a simulation. (This explains why you are always on the blue team, since it seems to be the "good" team.)

I don't think it is funny anymore.  This game's jargon is quickly crossing over into stupidity.

Also, I have discovered that since components' GC costs have no relation to their RP costs, it is easy to turn a bit of GC into a lot of RP.  You just look for the items with the best GC to RP ratio (which can get pretty extreme), sell them, and use the RP to buy what you actually wanted.

E.g. you can buy a T4 Helium for 30GC or ±2200 RP, sell it for ±1100 RP, while T4 armor also costs 30GC, but can be bought for ±550 RP, so you get double your GC's worth.

It reminds me of bootleg UO servers' broken economies, except that it's in my favor this time.

To be honest gc for parts is a total waste

Better investment is to have more garages, so you get multiple x2 bonuses a day, or to unlock high tier tech so you skip all the grind

A tier 10 defeat is worth about as much as a tier 8 victory and were talking a couple black cube each game.
