Medics definitely need the extra armour though.

Take a look at that chart~ DPS does not increase past 6~

Huh, guess I should stop being intimidated by the wall of guns tank type, though they are still dangerous since they can fire at maximum fire rate after losing a few guns.

Yeah, I'm aware that it doesn't increase past 6...

Walls of guns at lower levels hurt small bots, I think. It's been a while since I played there, my lowest ranked bot is T5 atm..

Newer players tend to lose lots of guns due to mistakes, so in lower tiers, more guns = better since they get a safety net.

Yes, max firing rate is 6 SMGs, but I typically run my T10 SMG hover with 8 SMGs in case some get blown off.

8 is barely enough. I go with 13, but for serious gunbedding I have seen more (I am a light hover compared to other monsters)

I'm almost at the point where I redesign my jumping blimp (rev 4).
I am using T6 armor for a beginning-of-T7 bot. Should I skip buying any armor levels? I don't use electroplates.

Depends, do you expect to attract fire?

Part of the time, yes.
As in, I usually get hit a bit with smg's and occasionally get blasted with a lucky plasma or rail shot.
I have 2-3 layers of armor, but still occasionally get oneshotted.

In that case, I'd recommend not skipping armour levels.

I used t6 armor up to t9, but had a plasma bot with electroplates so getting little fire and mostly on plates.

Then bought t8 armor for t10 bot (80% the armour, 25% the price) and after 500 reds I started buing black.

If this chart is accurate the SMG mechanics are even more screwed up than i thought.

I've seen at least 20 cheaters today and reported maybe 8 of them i got good screenshots of cheating. Out of like 30 games. One guy was using this masterpeice of engineering with it's recoil based propullsion to zoom accross the map at insane speeds blanketing the entire map with plasma.

...I want to try that, only if that is able to be achieved without hacking the engine.
