They're decent, but debatably even harder to stabilize than non-wing designs. The thing is, they generate a LOT of lift, if you're moving even a little, so it's easy to get airborne. It's rather difficult to maneuver and to even stay flying level, but depending on what you're doing it can be a great boon. They can be used to tilt and pivot, but not to roll, which makes functional use somewhat difficult, you can't fly them like traditional aircraft by banking turns, but at the same time you have to do so.
I still wish they'd list the weight of all items, or the total weight of your craft, so that zero-weight floaters could be built without hours of tinkering.
More importantly the tech tree has changed. Now all tech points are tier-locked, so if your bot is T1, you get T1 tech points, which can ONLY be used to unlock T1 goods. If you want T2 goods, you have to upgrade your bot so that it becomes T2. What this ULTIMATELY means is that all robots become larger by necessity. My main bot is a T4, but I was using a T7 railgun, just one of them. I had poor rate of fire and suitable armor, but it was balanced against the guys with several T3 plasmas. Now though, if I want to upgrade anything, I'm forced to equip like 4-5 railguns on my craft JUST so that I can force into a higher tier and start earning tech points. Everything becomes physically larger if you want to progress.
Also, higher-up tech points CANNOT be used on lower-down items. If your bot is T4, but you need a T3 item, then you have to downgrade to T3. So if you missed anything, you need to switch between various designs on various tiers. Oh also, garage prices went up, so enjoy swapping bots!
