I built my first flying thing and am having a blast. It's fun watching tanks become either completely paralyzed or drive into things because they can't see where they are going when they are aiming up.

You get a pittance for the blocks, but it can sometimes be enough to let you buy something you need.

Now that I've gotten a decent RP-flow going with a reasonably good vehicle, though, I'm trying to save any parts I swap out so I can hopefully make a second vehicle of a different kind. Much as I love my tank destroyer/glorified metal plate with wheels and guns, my first vehicle was a flyer and I can't say I don't miss screwing around in her.

I'm fine with it as long as it is lower damage and slower firing than lasers of the same tier.

AoE doesn't necessarily mean it does more damage. Plus, if it is it'll probably either be short-ranged, a slow and easily-avoidable projectile, or fire very slowly, or a combination thereof. Also also, I can already think of ways to defeat it, like spaced armor.

well, if it damages all cubes, its just a question of how many guns.
from the sounds, it will be a weapon that cant hit flyers, but can be very easy used by flyers (shooting down trajectory wouldnt be an issue).
if the combined guns then had enough power to take 50% of a cube (of given tier), such a flyer would 2 shot everything.
dunno. again. strikes me as a stupid idea.

anyway whats that shit. stupid matchmaker puts my tier2 vehicle into tier4 matches all the time. im about to get pissed.

Is it possible to make a flier that doesn't suck using the rotors? It seems you can't get any decent altitude or speed... but it's just expensive to get enough jets to make a good jet flier and those seem pretty unstable.

From what I've seen, the top-tier rotors can take you pretty high, but they're pretty much your only option, and it's probably better to just use the jets.

If you're having stability issues, just make a symmetrical craft and tweak it until it works. Also, you should be able to use helium tanks if you don't want to have to use lots of jets.
