After being beaten up a literal fuckton of times and somehow reaching player level ten, I'm getting a relative idea of what land designs are.

Tried my hand with fliers first. What a horrible waste of BP.

Basically, you've got artifacts of the God of Redundancy like my current design - nine guns, four outer wheels, three inner wheels, three inner thrusters, one outer thruster, mostly white-plated with splotches of green and orange (this is a T2, mind). Then you've got tiny vehicles with one or two guns tops which are made out of the best armors but collapse after a sustained barrage. I guess they focus on speed? There are various kinds of stuff in between, but the polars are the most effective at what they're doing.

At least my design takes care of flyers well. Unless they're the bastards who are made out of pure black armor. Fuck these guys.

Anyway, tell me how to make a good land tank, B12. I need to get to T3 soonish.

I'm running in the middle with a mid-sized buggy made out of green armor with wheel coverings (also green), and while it's not that durable, it can do some real damage with 5 guns if I join in battle at the right time.

So probably not the best person to advise you on land designs, seeing how I'm trying to figure them out myself.

black armor in tier2? thats realy bad they could never have gotten it legaly if they just played tier2, so either they hacked in or they came back from tier8+ to troll the new players. low.

good land vehicles, i just can say what i was successful with:

i rushed tier 3s wheels very early for the added hitpoints and speed. that worked realy realy well as being faster then about anybody else is a huge advantage.
as the wheels where so expensive, i never had more then 4 however.
also i always tried to keep my cars as flat and small as possible. tho, progressing in game guns demand larger and larger vehicles.

Just encountered something novel. Anyone know how to create a salvo effect with your guns? Do I need a lot of different types or something?
With 5+ a salvo would be devastating compared to the slow plinking away of regular lasers.

also i always tried to keep my cars as flat and small as possible. tho, progressing in game guns demand larger and larger vehicles.

How do you actually get to two blocks flatness? Saw it mentioned in the thread earlier. Can you install the pilot seat sideways or do you just not provide armor for it? Most of the reason why my tank is six blocks high is that I cover the pilot seat as well as possible.

The catch is, I've noticed that all the guns don't fire at once, it just fires more at a time. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong? When you're circling/strafing, autofire works better, though- in my opinion, at least.

You do not need to cover the pilots seat, all you need to is cover the block it is placed on.

You do not need to cover the pilots seat, all you need to is cover the block it is placed on.

This. If you pay attention, you'll notice that your pilot's seat is never actually destroyed, just its base.

FYI, you should always have the best armour under the seat, and preferably surrounding that block as well.

wrong on that part, I've had the pilot seat destroyed quite a bit, i've also done the same to others, hitting directly at the pilot can be a challenge however. For example there was a tier 10 vehicle that had full level 5 armor but a 2 by 1 hole at the top of it, I flew directly above them and shot there, they were destroyed instantly. now the reason why i cant say for certain is because aiming down is very difficult as a flier since the camera stays centered on the robot.

You may have been shooting though the pilot seat. I am not certain that it can get hit.

There is limit on how much can you fire because lag

yeah etg. if you fire from above onto the seat, youll hit the block the seat is mounted to.
its true, flyers can get a very lucky day if you build that flat.

So, I strapped three jets to a chair and rocketed off the test map.  It was extremely enjoyable, if completely stupid.

Need to get more dosh for more parts and bigger jets for a jumpjet tank.  Also, armor.  Using bulk white blocks in place of actual, proper armor doesn't seem to be working for me very well.  :[

they balanced weapon so now armor is useless except two tick lvl 5 armor.

Bulk only works if you can avoid haveing large areas cut out.
Im thinking that a ladder chassis for the floor pan and the up rights being white blocks strengthened with green.

As you can see the floor is as strong as a 3 block floor but save a few blocks, the walls have the white blocks held in place by the green.

Just under the limit, and packing level 2 guns along with 2 thick green armour.

well useless.
its less impervious. still as exeeding damage will be transfered to adjecent blocks, better armor will be much more durable even if it dies to a single shot: just because less blocks will die to a single shot.
but yeah... my fron is 3 layers of black armor now, and it gets chewn off rather quickly now.
3 days ago this bot would have been a total pupstomperroflsmassacre bot.
