Wow, this game might actually be worth playing again.
you still have to grind endlessly to BUY those parts, tho.

The amount of free to play games without some sort of inflated grind is quite small.

FTFY. Outside of certain genres, inflated grind is quite rare in single-player games. Too bad almost no one is working on making a proper single-player AI to make them as interesting as multiplayer ones...

Well, I just tried getting back in. I'm apparently level 43 now, having two tier-2 guns, 4 tier-4 wheels (which I'm certainly not using with tier 4 guns on account of them driving my robot ranking through the roof) and all my flying stuff was obsoleted and converted back into being 2500 RP, which isn't much. Having unlocked a bunch of stuff up to tier 6 or so, but not having much RP, what's the best way to go about getting more RP while not grossly inflating my robot rank to where my mixed T1/T2 armor gets blown off in a split second?

Plasma flyers still strong, hover gunbed less so but easy to grind and killstealing.

Get past the t2 armor level, you'll make more rp. (Or you could probably still use the single player at that level and get a useful reward)

Honestly the amount of survivability you get from tiering up armor is so marginal its silly.

Really how you use armor is more important than how good it is numerically.  Either using spaced armor by building layers that aren't touching each other or by 'tri-forcing,' which is deliberately directing how damage travels through the craft by how each block is connected to one another.

I wasn't suggesting it because of survivability, but because the lowest-level rp rewards are crap. Its much easier to be fancy with what you want to build when you are getting more than 800rp for a whole tdm match.

Part 6, the last part of reveals. Part 7 will be the planned timeline for the everything involved. Includes such nifty things as a tdm mode w/respawns and free garage slots.

I'm waiting to see how they plan to implement competitive Robocraft. It's not like every bot is going to be exactly the same.
With the reveal of CRF 2.0, I feel certain that competitive Robocraft will not be like anything I'm expecting. Mainly because I expect balance to be painful.

...haven't they have planned to talk about these things with the community? You know, "Nothing is set in stone at this point" and all that? I suspected it was false, but I didn't expect them to declare it so blatantly. Not that it matters much, after their first proposals have revealed that they basically wanted a completely different game from what they actually made with their own hands.

Weren't you complaining about them not having a proper plan a few days ago, Sergarr? Because they pretty clearly have a plan in mind now, even if it took them a week and one major public rework of it to say all of it.

That big list of stuff looks exactly like the opposite of design document (or even just a "proper plan") I've had in mind. It looks more like what the Starbound team was throwing out in the last two years.

Like, just look at this shit:
Quote
We have the idea of a daily global Meta in TDM 2.0 which will pitch Ground vs. Air one day, Walkers vs Cruisers the next. SMG vs other weapons the next. With each day bringing a new variant. Scores at the end of each day showing who won? With rewards associated.
- I want to talk about social features. It’s clear it’s a big thing for many of you and has strong potential to increase engagement for early gamers too, so you’ve pushed all these things right up our priority list.
- Clans, Clan ranks, Clan battles, Clan tags and holoflags, Clan chat, Clan builds, are all things we want to add
- Improving the chat, making it a better tool and making it easier to chat with friends and clan etc.
- Notifications making it easy to know who is online right now
- Party mode so you can invite players to private servers and ideally define some game rules
- Ways to co-op build and even co-op pilot robots
This is not design, this is "oh hey we have this vague list of ideas and we have absolutely no idea how we're going to implement them, but we are going to make a time-table for doing them because we can't realistically assess our own capabilities and make realistic predictions, as evident from the fact that the game went into completely different direction that we wanted it to, despite programming every single feature within it". This is the sort of attitude that leads to major disappointment, both from developers and from players.
