Mech legs don't seem to tip over.  Like, there's no weight amount that can cause it to topple.  Someone put legs on one side of the hanger and a chain of blocks, then a track that wasn't touching the ground.  The track's weight couldn't pull it over.

So build big, center of mass doesn't matter!

just tried after the leg update after a long hiatus during the plasma crisis

apart from legs jumping a little too high, the current version is balanced and fun again to me

I'm not sure how FJ managed to screw up a game mode just by adding non-optional ranks to it, or limiting it to one tier.

But its either that or abysmal luck, and I had had plenty of luck dragging a mecha medic up to BA there with the premium code, so I doubt its the luck. Feels like a colossal waste of time now instead of the fun respawning mode, and I'm even more dubious now of whatever it is they're going to describe next week for their 'big thing'.

What is the point of mechs if I can't use my ridiculously glass-cannon jumpjet blitzkreig spider to topple them from above like ungainly giraffe? :/

Seriously, I hate the new legs. They're unusable with other propulsion methods due to their mass. They slow down the entire team even more when turtling was already a favored tactic, making the metagame much less interesting to faster players.

They look awesome, they have builtin EPs, and they sound stompy. I like the legs quite a bit. The only issues are their cpu cost (about twice the cost of a similar mk tread, which makes more than two questionable for the cost), and that they're so damn heavy its more worthwhile to armor up instead of attempt any sort of speed up, so you end up lagging behind hovers, mega-hovers, and mega-wheel bots who probably want you to support them with heals.

Edit: Maybe a run key instead of a crouch key? It would look odd probably, but you could at least get moving at more than 80mph.

I'm guessing the CPU cost difference between the stompy legs and the treads is because of the built in EP.

I think mobility still wins out in Battle Arena though, since you need to maximise your map presence while holding all the objectives. (quite like Dota in that respect, really)
