New game mode is pretty fun.

Though I'm upset now that the patch notes didn't come with a patch yet.

Well...just experienced my first round after update.

It's....pretty rubbish, the game doesn't care about you, only if the round is "balanced", as a result, I was regularly going up against two tier 10s in my tier 5, as well as a tier 7-8 or such, so while the round might be "balanced", those in lower tier vehicles will find themselves trampled by the higher tiers.

I admit it's only one round, but it's not looking good.

EDIT:Going up against a megabot in my T5 without even having a megabot on our own side, it's totally balanced.

Update or not, rushers are still boring as fuck to deal with. There seems to be more of them now.

Huh, now that's odd. Robocraft is just...gone from my steam list of games. I wonder how the hell that happened?


EDIT: Hmm, looks like the .acf file for it has somehow been blanked out to all NULLS. Would someone be able to send me a copy of theirs? Steam store won't let me install it since it thinks it is installed, and I can't do anything within steam to verify the game since it's not on the list. Frustrating.

Also the boss battle queue is incredibly long... it's been 6 minutes and there's still 130 more people in the queue to go.

does it accomplish anything other than making it so that high level players don't get matched with low level players?

iirc most of the sealclubbing complaints revolved around this problem: high level players have so much more CPU to play around with, which unbalances the game at lower levels.

I think the problem is that they had both Tiers and Player level. It would have been fine if you could only make a bot for a given tier with parts for that tier or lower and no CPU cap. Just some sort of parts cap or something to keep bots from getting too big. Or keep the CPU concept but have it constant or set per tier instead of player level.

That way you'd have avoided all of the seal clubbing issues altogether (other than skill but..eh)

that's not something novel community warned for ages of the issue, and they only half complied by introducing the tier limits, and now that everything is fair well, old problemes are going to be new again

Seeing this thread made me download the game again. After about an hour I uninstalled it again.

Mostly because all but one match involved my level 1 bot facing off megabots and level 5+ bots that I couldn't hurt but which would oneshot me with impunity. One game had an enemy lvl7 or so chopper hover over our base and rack up over 30 kills by the end of the game, mostly because nobody could really hurt him that much, and even when he was crippled all he needed was one gun to keep oneshotting us all.

Also the progression is stupidly slow it seems, meaning you're stuck with the SMG's and Plasma for the first twenty or so levels I think, which I don't really see as much fun tbh.

So um, I was lv32 yesterday (max Mk5 parts) and when I logged in today I suddenly became 68... what happened? @_@
