Could someone please give me some tips on actually getting anwhere at the start, I've tried playing this but everytime I try, I just die, get barely enough points to repair, and no means of progression. This looks pretty interesting despite it's flaws, and it feels like a shame to just give up on this without having actually explored any of it's content.

This is a t1 bot only built with free cubes and quite satisfying. Simply put: go bigger! :)

You no longer need points to repair, you will always get positive RP now.
Just try to shoot them, that gives more RP, which will let you progress. Or sneak capture their base. Really, it's a bit of a grind at first, but after that there's more to do.

Really, it's a bit of a grind at first...
Honestly, I'd disagree pretty strongly with this. It took me maybe 4-5 hours of play to get to T3, and by that point you've got a broad swath of things to do which only widens later. Robocraft has pretty much been the least-grindy F2P game I've ever played. I think the modularity helps with that, though, since every little bit of progress gets you new shiny stuff.

But yes, as LoSboccacc said, make a big block of armor and SMGs. Shoot everything.

So apprantly this new 'roboshield' thing is Easy Anti Cheat. Looking over the robocraft forums has people suggesting that it keylogs and screencaps your computer, and publicly releases the information.

Now I'm wondering if these accusations actually hold any water, further in the thread I found this stuff they mentioned that the program only does so in competitive tournament settings. Other people mentioned how they were concerned with the program having the capability to do so at all and the potential for the terms of service to change allowing them to make wholesale use of such features at a whim against whoever they please.

Can anyone confirm that the program can or cannot actually perform this?

It still somewhat bugs me that cockpits are indestructible...

Stupidly for the longest time I've been shooting at people's cockpits.

This whole "Changing the terms of service at anytime" thing is actually outright illegal.... well... specifically it has no legal power.

It just matters if they are sued or not.

The interesting thing is these guys have seen use already in several titles, they have not been shut down so far as I know as of yet... And I have not heard anything about lawsuits actively taking place so far.

This is why I don't have much belief that they are actually that incompetent, or ill willed. I mostly find it a curiosity that such claims are made and as you can imagine, I'd rather avoid it if they are true to the point of the EAC developers lying through their teeth. Honestly most of the reason I'll be avoiding Robocraft for a bit is since the game appears to be having serious stability issues at the moment due to the program's implementation.

As far as I've been able to tell, it's legit. Did some searching around and didn't find any reputable reports, it doesn't display any suspicious behavior, and Malwarebytes didn't flag it either passively or after a full scan.

There's a thread regarding it and Magicka Wizard Wars over on the paradox forums -- on the one hand, they've also had a number of issues with it, but on the other the fact that Paradox is working with them suggests that they're on the up-and-up.

Performance has still gone to shit, though. I didn't even have any trouble with cheaters, either.

That is an interesting thing I noticed too... Before this was even implemented I saw absolutely no cheaters at about the time halloween kicked in. It makes me wonder where they all went.

Note: EAC shows up in a "virus style" overlay (at least that's what I thought was happening) when it detects something wrong and kicks you from a game. Had this happen to me while loading into a boss fight with my regular T10 SMG hover, think it might be a freak occurrence as I didn't have any problems with any of my bots before attempting a boss round.

Re: cheating. I didn't see any (or couldn't differentiate a cheat from a legit oneshot easily enough) until I hit T10. Even there, it's still not common, but the amount of bots in T10 means you'll probably see them more often, and I think I did see more cheaters in T10 compared to lower tiers. Ever see a rail tank have SMG fire rates?

That's about what I figured would be the case. Though honestly I'd rather deal with occasional cheaters than have my performance continually eroded. It's one thing if it's something like Counterstrike, where a cheater can ruin a server for hours if there aren't any admins on, but in something like this the most you lose is five minutes, give or take, and not even that if they aren't the first thing you encounter.

You'll see this on every single MMO ever.  Whatever third party hackshield they're using will be universally decried by the players as being a virus, too invasive, or too hair-trigger while also not kicking any real hackers.

The only issue I have with their shenanigans is that they are cutting into my paid premium dsys and the day lost really are starting to accumulate into significant amounts.

Alpha excuse holds no water there. Either they reimpourse with codes (personal codes not the free premium to anyone) or they will start losing paid customers beginning with me.

Game is free anyway and I need no more rp, so at this point I was just doing it for support.
