None of the wheels are directly connected to the tiles supporting the seat, there's a full 2-thick wall of blue between the cockpit and the space with the jammer+radar in the back, and the whole cockpit block is basically a solid mass of orange+blue with internal wedges for extra support everywhere they fit. That's my main concern, though I tend to stay away from brawls, so I'm usually only taking damage on the front quarter. I
have considered switching up to T4 shields covering the wheels to block shots on the middle pairs, but I'm not sure if it's worth further extending the base of the chassis to properly support them.
well since it's a tank, probably no sense in making it bigger and with more rails, however, consider putting a skirt around your rail front so that first shot will land on cubes and not on the pillar sustaining the weapon
That's what those flat shields are there for; I don't really have the space or CPU to set up proper damage blocking.
e: Thanks much for the first screenshot, I'd been wondering about structures like that.
Basically the way I've had it break down so far is that I'm only eating other railgun shots/long range inaccurate plasma fire, and then only on the front. Usually what happens is either I back off before the shields break completely, though there was one match where the weaker shields on the wheels went down and I lost the front pair.
tl;dr I've avoided issues with the weak rear because I'm a camping bastard.
