Mm, that's why the vitriol.
My bot's still /kinda/ useful, but instead of aggressively attriting I have to camp at max range. Or flee (break los) & turn, rinse & repeat.
Argh.

Meanwhile, claws & wheels don't seem to mix company so well. You guys find anything cool with them?

Yeah, but could only test with two claws so far.

Mediguns are maximum op, just got melted by a miniature flying pill pod.

I don't know what they were thinking giving the Q3 lightning gun auto aim.

Oh wow, shields scoff at railguns too. :|
T9 railguns rated at 15k dmg = 900 shield damage.

The problem with the nano guns is they have awful range. The damage they do is pretty good though, SMGs don't have 100% accuracy.

I also find it intriguing that getting premium now also benefits everyone else you play with.

So, are t7+ wheels now obsolete what with claw-walking?

I'm really liking the healers~ Last round I had six medics following my tank around, nobody could really hurt us~

Nanoguns don't give money for healing yet, unfortunately.

Nonetheless, they make good interceptor weapons.
I think they give rewards based on amount healed, but don't quote me on that, I need to test it a bit more.
Rationalising the nanodisruptors' autoaim: Unlike TF2 where the medigun beam can bend after it locks on, nanodisruptors don't. That, combined with the way spotting works, autoaim allows you to lock on to a heal target while freeing your crosshair to spot enemies.

Re: claws vs wheels: not necessarily. I have a feeling claws have less armour, and they behave like hoverblades: if you lose one you become rather unbalanced until someone patches you up. IMO wheels are still the go-to movement choice if you want to be pretty sure that you don't get crippled too hard by loss of one wheel (unless you're running a 4 wheeled buggy...)

So I took one of the new legs and stuck it to the back of a flying vehicle with rail cannons.

The result was a very fascinating sniper that attaches itself to cliff faces to stabilize itself and give itself a very good vantage point.

Getting to new vantage points is exactly what my rail spider is built for now :3

The weird thing is, I really meant >One< leg. It gets a ton of weird looks due to how it works. It usually just hangs by that leg from a cliff or pushes itself along on the ground like an inchworm whenever it isn't flying.

I'd imagine some of the weird looks come from it being tier 5 as well...

I've read that healing gets lumped into the 'cpu damage' category, still I own no disruptors so I don't really know.

Instead I used to leftover galaxy bux to rush some legs and for funzies built an evil crab.

I also managed to build a functioning plane.  Naturally wants to level itself, but the climbing kinda sucks.

Yeah, I'd stare at bots with one leg too, they'd seem counter-intuitive :P

I've unlocked T8 legs and nanodisruptors (spent way more time grinding in T8 than other tiers, so I had leftover TP there), so I can test more stuff tonight.

Fun fact: legs and nanodisruptors don't work very well together :p

Also, thanks for reminding me to fix my plane design. It no longer flies at it used to :S

I reiterate: claws make wheels obsolete. All-terrain easy-mode, can jump to avoid plasma-bomber rounds, move fast enough to keep up what with these small maps & how camping/attriting/healing has become a thing. Not to mention they look cooler.
Wheels are smaller, have a higher load capacity, and move slightly faster. That's it.

Seems to me legs are no less stable than wheels with proper redundancy.

To stick with earth-bound wheels, you must have a very niche bot.

Trying to offset the legs to minimize the total width, they really don't seem to like being asymetrical. Though it is workable. It just does this cute little incessant back'n'forth bobble, as if it had ADHD. Seems like it would make for a memorable medic-bot.
