Clans aren't a thing yet.
What's no longer a thing are paid repairs. As far as I can tell from my last couple of games, you get rewarded for doing stuff, and these rewards scale with tier (and other factors). There's a whole load of changes, so I'd suggest checking out the release notes first.
Walker Legs
New ‘Movement’ cube type featuring from T7-T10
Legs can climb sheer cliffs, crouch [SHIFT] and jump [SPACE]
Legs stake into ground so can hold you upside down
When jumping from a cliff face, legs will aim to self-right during the fall - like a cat - so you land on your feet
When overburdened, Walker Legs have a slower top speed, have a lower ride height, and do not jump as high
More legs can be used to increase weight bearing capacity
You can combine legs with all other Movement cube types, e.g. Aerofoils and Walker Legs to create flying Walkers
Nano-Disruptor
New ‘Weapon Class’ featuring in the ‘Hardware’ category
A very short range but very powerful laser targeted beam of nano-disruption
As with other weapon classes, you cannot combine it with other weapon types
Can both damage enemies and heal allies
Cannot be used to heal self, only team-mates
Maximum 6 can fire at once
DPS and HPS are ‘stacked’ with more weapons (max 6)
Holding down [LMB] fires all beams at single location towards target crosshair
Holding down [RMB] auto-targets nearest target to weapon
Up to 6 targets can be auto-targetted at once
Laser sight triggers disruption-beam when enemy is in range
DPS of 6x Nano’s is 80% of DPS of 6x SMG’s at the same Tier
HPS of 6x Nano’s is 25% DPS of 6x SMG’s at same Tier
Nano beam is perfectly accurate, and has no inaccuracy when moving or firing
Boss Battles
New Game Mode unlocked from Tier 7
Selected via the Battle Dialogue, or by pushing
You can play as the Boss alone, or in a Boss Platoon with friends (max 4)
Bosses must defend a single base capture site in the middle of the map
Bosses play vs. 20 x Lower/Mid Tier Robots
Boss Team and Enemy Team are matched by Robot Rank but with Platoons and numbers taken into account to improve balancing
Robocloud will improve the balance over time by watching the outcome of boss battles
Boss Battles are rationed and limited with a cool-down timer so we can control the frequency of boss battles with low / mid tier users
Each user can enter a boss battle around once every 30 minutes
Queue times for boss battles may be longer than usual due to popularity of the new game mode
Low / Mid Tier users will not face consecutive boss battles
New ‘Handicap Bonus’ ensures that low tiers get great rewards in boss battles, even if they are one-shot killed by a lucky shot from a boss
Rewards for the bosses are high also as ‘Kills’ and ‘Assist’ totals will be high
You cannot enter a boss battle during the ‘Ranked Match’ phase
Free Repairs Forever
Unpopular repair mechanic has gone, repairs are now always free
So now it’s impossible to get a ‘net loss’ in battle
RP rewards have been lowered to account for the removal of the repairs, but with the aim of increasing overall average RP earning rates across all Tiers
It’s simple, if you do nothing, you get nothing, if you do a lot, you get a lot - except in v.low Tiers (1-4) where you always get a little something
When fighting against bosses, you automatically get 75% of the base reward, just for being in battle
Premium Bonus Bonus
Premium Bonus has changed radically
Everyone - regardless of if they have Premium or not - now gets 5% extra RP for every Premium User in battle (no matter what team they are on)
Everyone in battle gets the bonus, regardless of what team they are on
So 5 Premium users in battle gets everyone 25% extra RP
Premium Bonus has also been DOUBLED for Premium Users to 100% (as opposed to 50%) on both RP and TP
Handicap Bonus
A new bonus awarded when you are in a battle vs. Tiers that are higher than you
The bonus takes the different between the top tier in battle and the top tier in your Platoon and uses it to multiply your earnings in battle
e.g. if you’re a T1 Platooning with a T10, you will not get a Handicap bonus as the bonus uses the top tier of your ‘Platoon’
At low Tiers you earn RP even for getting damaged, so this ensures you earn a decent reward even for getting killed in a boss battle
If you kill the boss, get an assist, or do some damage, you are up for a tidy sum
Other Changes
Battle Shortcuts have changed, now you have to push two buttons
Practice Mode = then [P]
Battle Mode = then (i.e. twice)
Boss Mode = then [N]
New Voice Acting recorded for the ‘Spotting’
New ‘Walker’ and ‘Medic’ classes added to spotting
Spot ‘weapon class’ icons have changed
Hexagon = SMG
Circle = Plasma Launcher
Triangle = Rail Cannon
Cross = Nano Disruptor
Prism = Scout (i.e. no weapon)
Plasma Range limited to clipping plane - so you cannot be shot by something you cannot see
More ‘Hints’ added at the bottom of the Battle Start screen
Login Screen changed
Anti-hack server detection improved
Alignment Rectifier improved so it flips you more reliably when on side and in general
Control Screen updated to reflect new controls
Added in new ‘Dev Announcement’ system allowing us to communicate when we’re working on servers etc. in real time
