That's still like point blank, and you can see a bunch of misses even in the video. try engaging SMGs from anything other than point blank.

Man, I need a new design to farm RoboPoints.

I log in once a day (2 tier 4's and a tier 6) and play until I get a satisfactory victory. 90k RP in about 4 days (on and off).

I'm still not sure what to do with all of that...

Maintain an RP stash in case of horrible games so you have a repair buffer.
Cubes get more expensive (exponential increase? not too sure) as you go higher in tier so there's that to consider as well, if you're in the mood to upgrade your bot for higher and higher tiers.

RP farming kinda depends on what tier you like playing at. T4 is the last tier where you can reliably get a positive RP income (occasionally you may lose 1RP, but that's nothing compared to higher tier losses). I started my basic plasma bomber design in T4, and it's been fun. Then I picked up my rail buggy game and moved it from T3 (where I was countering helium sats) to T5 (where I go defensive anti-air), and I think (so far) I'm guaranteed at least a net profit, regardless of whether my buggy gets destroyed.

That seems like a poor balance change to make, in terms of encouraging fun. I guess it's good for getting them to spend money though.

Yeah, you can lose RP by incurring a repair cost higher than the income you made from the match. I understand that repair used to be "pay now or wait 5 minutes and it's free", but I only started playing after they changed to the current "pay RP to repair" system.

The repair debate is still ongoing over on the official forums. (by ongoing, I mean "every so often someone moans about repairs because they weren't aware that getting to higher tiers means the penalties scale along with the rewards")

Devs have stated that they don't want to abolish the repair system just yet (monetisation issues at work here), but they might do so if they can find a better way to get monies from us.

In other news, helium sats don't go away completely at higher tiers. They now get to mount 2 rails and have electroplate!

Well, devs have been teasing that spider legs will be released soon, and there's word that a proper artillery weapon will be introduced (don't take my word on this, the only available evidence is a 6 month old post from a dev). Based on that scant evidence, I'd say "more parts" is part of the grand plan.
