Anville - at first it may look like another pre-war village with a few small shacks and two old lookout towers, but it's actually an important stop for caravans from around the region, connecting the Undercity to the west, Leaf's Reach and Tower Calamity in the south and being the closest settlement to the fabled Pokemon Conflux high in the northern mountains.

Being the group of wanderlust adventurers that you are, willing to partake in the race to region domination, claim yourselves to be the new rulers of Anville - and nobody seemed to object, seeing as there hasn't been any ruler of this place in the first place.

Apart from yourselves, your "army" consists of four Noibats and a Glaceon who decided to join your cause. The Noibats came with the traders of Undercity, looking for adventure whereas the Glaceon claims to be an apprentice of the Pokemon Conflux and she left it to hone her skills.

Food is not an issue, and the caravans from the area should provide you with short-term supplies, but if you're willing to achieve anything big in this new war, you need to gather an army that isn't outnumbered by its generals, but before you can do that, you need to guarantee a reliable income of resources. The area directly around Anville is heavily forested, and there are stories of an old, long-since defunct quarry nearby.

Valden looked around the area, considering it's possibility.
"Hrm... What do you fellows suppose we should do first? Being the leaders here, we should probably first try to get some supplies to help improve this place. Like... That quarry I remember hearing about! Yes! That could be very useful. We could use the stone from it to possibly fortify the town... "

Oliver nods, his beady black eyes darting around his new town. "Indeed. It would be in our best intrest to examine the quarry and see if that might still be some stone for us. It is also worth considering wood as a resource; stone could be limited or difficult to obtain, so we don't want to waste it on any non-military projects."

The trapinch pauses in consideration. "Before we begin however, we should take a census of town. We need to know how many unemployed peasants live around here. Any attempt at resource extraction won't get far without cheap labor."

Sparta snaps its fangs. "Before we head into the forest we need to figure out what Pokemon are hiding in it. The last thing we want to happen us getting jumped with type-disadvantage..."

((Assuming we're going with the Mystery Dungeon random hostile Pokemon thing.))

The Ralts looks around.
"I think there are two things we need to do. First we decide who takes who to claim the various resources."

"Before we start building an army, we need to make sure we can sustain it. Let us take advantage of what we have - this is a trading city. Let us renovate the Kontor, and send negotiators to neighbouring cities. The Noibats are particularly good at frisking the markets, if we take them with us to neighbouring towns, we will get a sufficent picture of their stock and quickly be able to make money through trade operations and slowly suck them dry. I suggest 4 of us go east, west, south and south-east, to the closest cities, taking a Noibat with us each. Another one should prepare for the long track north, and take Glaceon with you. One of you that stays here should see to the quarry, marble is a valueable trade good, while the other one should raise a militia. Surely some of the pokemon in this town are capable of spilling some blood."

*Unless there is objection to splitting up, Rapunzel takes a Noibat with her, and heads along the road east, into the town bordering the desert. Ground pokemon stand little chance against her grass moves, and the Noibats Gust should be able to take care of bug and grass mons in the forest*

"I'll go north. I'm interested in the Glaceon and this will give me a good amount of time to get to know her. Also I might be able evolve so I can walk around with out using other's feelings as an indicator of where walls are."

Valden just quickly looks around the area, coming up with ideas as they go along.
"We should stick to here for a while. I mean, we are but a few. With our defenses presently, we would be quickly overwhelmed if we split up out meager forces already. Besides, the caravans that come here can easily be used to figure out what place has what, just by their stock."

The caravans that come by here just do some opportunistic day by day trade, there are no major trade agreements. We are in the center of the western part of the continent, yet our role is small. We need to change that, become anchor and turning point of the continents wealth. Once the time comes, we can just buy the enemies troops right from the front. Until then, our small size will protect us from being taken over.

The trips are short, and mostly reconaissance, get to know your surroundings, your allies, your enemies. Maybe we can make great business deals to fund the war, maybe we can recruit more soldiers to our army, and if we can't, we will at least return with knowledge.

But if you insist, stay here and raise troops to defend the town, or build up the quarry"
