Remuthra and Alleecat.

As Gregory takes off, he notices something strange about Elias. His back seems to be covered in lumps, unnoticeable by sight under a baggy shirt. After a few minutes, the nagging curiosity gets the better of him and he lands on a rooftop. Pulling up Elias’s shirt reveals about 15 purple worms attached to his back with slime webs. Their beady eyes stare up at you as tinny voices ring your heads.
“Hello, Gregory, Alaris. We’ve been waiting for you to figure it out.”

You find yourself back in the air, with no memory of the worms on Elias’s back.

At the station, the only person awake is the guard on duty, who goes and wakes up the captain, while you deposit Elias in the interrogation room. Captain Trewal meets you outside.

“Good job, you two! You’ll both get commendations! I’ll do the interrogation, and if you would like to watch, the door’s right there.”
The captain meets you back outside the interrogation room. “Tomorrow, I want you two to check the claim out.”
Turning to Gregory, “You don’t need to rest, correct? If you could watch the perp, I’ll give you double time.”
He hands Alaris a badge, with the title of Probationary Constable. “You earned this.”

Rolepgeek, Lawastooshort and Zako.

You continue down the mine, the dogs at Gartens’s side begin to growl.
“Do you sssmell ssomething?” Hix’ix’ix murmurs.
Suddenly, the mine makes cuts off to the side, which confuses your Kobold companion. “Ssstrange, there’sss a rich magnetite vein here. Why did they not mine it?” The drip of water comes from behind him, this time echoing like it came from a natural cave. Looking down the mine, the reason becomes obvious. About 50 feet away, the mine opens into a cavern lined with blue phosphorescent moss. It looks like a cave in closed it off, but it’s been reopened.
As you approach the entrance to the cave, you see that the wall is lined with hundreds, if not thousands of purple, translucent eggs, while the floor is splattered with blood, bones and flesh. It looks like this kill was fresh, only a few days old.
Your torches reveal about 10 more skeletons that were obscured by the rocks from the removed cave in. A few have iron circlets by their heads, and the tattered remains of leather armour lie between their bones. The circled ones seem to have wielded short swords studded with turquoise stones in life. These swords seem to have not decayed in the slightest over their hundreds of years of lying in this cave. The others, however, seem to have carried crude pickaxes, which have rusted heavily, and an apparent lack of armour.
Kemik begins to growl, and their ears go flat against her head. The hound is poised to spring forward and seek out the smell, but awaits an order.

((Sorry that the updates are rather unbalanced. The interrogation just kept going and going.))

Gregory smiles.

Happy to, captain. This guy was a serious hassle, wouldn't do to let him escape.

"Thank you, sir." Alaris says with a yawn, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have some sleep to catch up on."

"Good man." The captain leaves you in the interrogation room.
Elias looks up at you as you enter, staring you down silently. After about half a minute of eye contact, he looks away, and leans back in his chair, closing his eyes.
If you make any attempts to talk to him, he ignores you, and falls asleep after a quarter hour.
Early in the morning on June 12th, a knock at the door comes. When you open the door, a man wearing a barrister's robes and carrying a leather bag, overflowing with papers, enters.
"I am a barrister with the Church Coalition's public defenders branch. I'm going to have to ask you to wait outside, officer."
Assuming that you comply, the barrister leaves after about an hour. You return to your post until about a hour before noon, when a cart comes around to pick up Elias, moving him to a more secure holding cell at the HQ until his trial. You escort him to the cart, which is escorted by seven assorted combat focused CC officers. They do not want him to get out again.
As you watch it start trundling through the busy streets, you remember that the captain asked you to investigate the claim on the mountain that Elias mentioned during his interrogation.

"Thank you, sir." Alaris says with a yawn, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have some sleep to catch up on."
You return to the Brass Wheel, pick up some dinner, and sleep like a log until the next morning. The innkeep asks you to come back and play tonight, apparently the crowd was asking for you last night. You make some excuses and make to leave. As you head out the door, you remember that the captain asked you to investigate that claim that Elias mentioned last night. Fingering your new badge, you contemplate how to spend the day.

Gartens pulls her shield out from where she had stowed it on her back. Crouching slightly behind it, and pulling out her distinctive spear, she flipped her visor down. "From now on, you stay behind me. That goes for all of you. Do not touch anything."

The crusader was terrified. She was not impeded by her terror, but she was terrified nonetheless; the Captain of the Guard at the Temple was a Dragon; she knew what their lairs could look like. And this looked exactly like one. Or if not a dragon, something similarily powerful. They had to get out of here, and fast. "Hiks'iks'iks, we should leave soon. We will need a great deal of preparation if we wish to proceed any further. As is, this cave is incapable of supporting any life whatsoever, much less a mining operation. Cade, if you have any spying spells, begin setting them up here. We will need to know what we're dealing with if we return."

Celles Gartens, crusader of Melisi, rarely ran from fights, though some might say otherwise. She retreated sometimes, but more often she simply put them off until she could be better prepared. This was one of those cases, or would be. But she wanted to know what her dogs smelled. If it was in the cave with them right now, or if it noticed them...-! They needed to know what it was, and if it chased them...in this confined of a space, they would be almost certainly doomed. "Everyone stay behind me or the dogs. I don't want deaths on my conscience."

[Haljir = On] "Greghir, Kemik, slow scout close. Foe stealth careful, fight ready wait."

((Those are commands, telling them to scout ahead, but slowly, only as fast as their master is moving, and to stay within 10 meters. It's also telling them to be careful when moving, because enemies might be hiding, and that they should be ready for a fight, but only attack if she gives the signal. They're well trained and smart, in addition to being stronger than most horses.))

Hey, if I have time, I'll gladly come back and play, as long as he's still offering free room and board for it. I should also note that I am not publicly displaying my badge.

Exploring that claim should be fun, let's go there.

As you approach the entrance to the cavern, Kemik darts behind a boulder and you hear the hound bit into something rather squishy.
At this, three four-foot-long dark brown worm things drop down from the cieling. They open their mouths wide, revealing hundreds of needle-like teeth. They have two chitinous mandible things at the end of their tails. You are all briefly surprised by this, giving them time to charge and attack. They swarm the hounds, cutting off their advance. One bites? Kemik (represented by K), dealing 3 damage.

Spoiler: Map thing. (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Initiative (click to show/hide)
The second worm seems to grow tougher, it's body hardening against attack, and a smell of rotten flesh washes over you.
Kemik yips, as if attacked. (8 damage.)

Hix'ix'ix runs tail and runs, shouting: "I don't get paid enough for thisss!"

((Since I accidentally posted this with out doing the claim thing, that will be up at the end of my lunch. I havent forgotten you.))

((Shit sorry. I forgot about that. Maybe you should just post character's first names only for initiative?))

Cade stays where he is and casts Mage Armor. He readies an action to use Abrupt Jaunt to move next to one of the others in the party and out of melee range of the attacker if he is attacked in melee.

So it turns out that "the end of my lunch" is 10 at night. You learn something everyday. Blame it on school/work if you want to lie to yourself like me, or just glare at me for playing videogames when I should have been writing the turn.

Hey, if I have time, I'll gladly come back and play, as long as he's still offering free room and board for it. I should also note that I am not publicly displaying my badge.
Exploring that claim should be fun, let's go there.
That offer is still on the table, and I guessed as much.
I suppose I should head to the mountain, then.
Under the hot sun, you trudge up the mountain, until you reach claim 439. Most of the claims are closed off with heavy iron bars, and are connected to a large minecart railway, but 439 is closed off with a wooden door, and there are no signs of a mining operation. The door swings slightly in the breeze. Pushing it open reveals a dilapidated mine shaft, only going back a short distance, about 70? feet. You can make out a few hulking shapes at the end of the mine, but your lowlight vision can’t distinguish them.

The other two worms attack. The farthest one lunges (more like squelches) at Kemik, trying to grab the hounds throat, but they dance back, gnashing at thin air. The closest one, on the other hand, tries to attack Greghir, fails and then shifts towards the party.

Move for the easiest flanking sneak attack – preferably flanking with Gartens and even more preferably without putting myself in a flankable position.

I think this will be two attacks at +4 with d6-1+2d6 damage, presuming worms are sneakattackable, the little wormy gits.

No idea how I got invisible castle to roll 4 times oh wait I do actually – by being an idiot.

22 and 17!

1d20+4=22, 1d20+4=17, 1d20+4=21, 1d20+4=22

If this hits:
11 and 10HP!

1d6-1+2d6=11, 1d6-1+2d6=10
