((Before I continue with you going to the other alchemist's shop, did anyone take a look at the sketch artist's drawing? They are starting to put up wanted/person of interest signs.))
((I'll take a look at it.))
Gregory doesn't recognize the young man in the sketch, however, if he were to see him, he would recognize him instantly.
((What does he look like? What's his race? Can I guess how strong, nimble, etc. he might be?))
((Young, human, scraggly beard, definitely more agile then strong. Brown hair, brown eyes. Small unshaved moustache. The artist somehow reflected a glint of manic genius in his eyes. Generally average looking, but on the handsomer side.))

I should probably take one with me just in case.
No need. You instantly recognize the suspect. It's Elias!
[Insert plot twist music here.]
I seem to have missed this post, but whatever, I'm here, might as well play along.

Alaris knocks sharply on the door to the shop. "Merchants' Guild, surprise inspection!"

I was wondering about that.

Alaris knocks sharply on the door to the shop. "Merchants' Guild, surprise inspection!"
From inside the house heavy foot falls. They stop by the door, and a panel slides back, two beady eyes glaring out at you.
A Dwarven voice growls out from the other side of the door; "Ya got Guild badges?"

The eyes in the door slam shut and drop straight down. There's a thump half a second later.

Now to unlock the door and head inside.

The door opens slowly with a slight creak, revealing a a peacefully sleeping dwarf. He is dressed in night-clothes and is wearing a steel band around his left wrist.

You have an interesting way of interviewing people.
Guard Alaris' back, ready to engage in combat if needed.

"Well, I never said I was asking him anything. Go ahead and tuck the guy in bed. With any luck he'll just figure it was a strange dream."
Start searching the place, especially sniffing around for that blasting powder or looking for somewhere that organic reagents could be stored.

(Search roll < 10) There are a few stewing vials of smokepowder, but it's hard to tell what's in the stockroom. Some of the reagents are definitely organic, but it's all labeled in an angular, foreign script.
Apart from your footsteps and the snoring of the dwarf, the house is dead silent.

Gartens tries to figure out where the two have gone, and if no one is around, or nearby, who can help her, or is willing to try to do so, she has Greghir track them. The dog has been around them long enough to know the scent, after all.

As you ask around for them, a futile effort, since you were the last to see them, a small boy arrives with a letter for you from your traveling companions Cade and Edgric. They are offering you a business opportunity. The letter says to meet them at a bar called the Stained Brick. The boy offers to show you the way.

Gartens is annoyed that she can't find the two of them, but they're smart, and strong. The pair could probably handle anything life could throw at them, what with the magic and the strength. She shrugs, and speaks softly to the boy. "I would like that, yes." The crusader then follows him to the Stained Brick, her hounds on either side, walking close. They seemed friendly enough for now, though they were likely taller than the boy.

Inside, you are led to a table, at which Cade and Edgric sit.

GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ROLEPLAY!

On the other side of town...

As Alaris is rummaging through the storeroom, you both hear someone knock on the door, and then a few moments later, the door slowly creak open.

"Gentlemen," the crusader says, nodding to each of them in turn. She sits down heavily across from them, and orders some ale from the nearest server. The woman typically wore some form of armor, though this was just a thick leather jerkin with cloth over it denoting her allegiance to her faith, her temple, and her homeland. "I do hope this business proposition of yours is nothing illicit. I am an officer of the law now, you know."

Guy whirls around, dropping into a ready stance and preparing to charge through his enemy.

"We've got company at the door!"
