Pottery skill for writing books.

Sorry for asking, but is there a reason that the pottery skill is used to write books? There is an unused writing skill in dwarf fortress.

Because there is no writing profession and no writing labor. Its only skill. This means you can neither have professions graphics (writers that look like writers), nor toggling your dwarves to write (the labor). This means that all dwarves would do writing labors, just like all kids deconstruct floors/walls. You would have to use workshop profiles.

In theory I could make the potter the potter again, and use the writing for writing. I once made a poll about it, and people rather wanted the labor they can toggle. Same for prose and wordsmith and all these other hidden skills that lack labor and profession.
