Diary of Gomathuleng Febbomrek8th Malachite Due to the large amount of invalids clogging up our hospitals, I have told every fit dwarf I can find to begin caring to the injured. Fixing Shadowhammer's leg is the highest priority. Without Shadowhammer to lead the military, we may not be able to fend off another ambush. I may recruit more dwarves to the cause. Two dwarves against many goblins may not be a fair fight for us yet, however inferior the outsiders may be.
11th Malachite The medical dwarves have told me that Shadowhammer will have to walk with crutches from now on. I have mandated that three sets of crutches be built for this purpose. Metal crutches would be preferable, as Shadowhammer tells me that he plans to beat the goblins with his crutch, so they know the mistake they made by making him use it.
2nd Galena Shadowhammer is back up and walking, yet again. I have discovered the reason why Shadowhammer and I got injured. The armor that the outsiders brought to 'trade' with was sabotaged. I have ordered all of it melted down and a new set to be forged. As far as I know, there is no way to sabotage good steel.
14th Galena A human caravan has arrived. I have ordered the men to be careful of ambush when dealing with these crafty creatures. Once they enter the
death trap trading depot, I will order the men to floor over the entrance. There will be no way for the imbeciles to break through any of our dwarven craftdwarfship. The 'Remove Construction' technique is our most jealously guarded secret.
19th Galena The human caravan has entered their coffin. They will be trapped in there for the rest of their lives, which isn't necessarily that long.
21st Galena As expected, the outsiders have betrayed us, and another ambush appeared. Sadly, Kib Alathitin was unable to make it inside, on account of being shot. We will avenge his death.
On his crutches, Shadowhammer lead the townsdwarves to the fortifications to fire down on the goblins. The cowardly beasts ran away as soon as we started firing. To avenge Kib Alathitin, our bravely fallen hero, I pulled the lever to flood the humans myself. My engineers tell me that it takes weeks to fill, so they will have an excruciating death, bobbing for air, until there is no more to be found.
21st Limestone I think that I found one of the outsider spies. We found an unidentifiable dwarven body with the human ones. When inspecting the fortress for further evidence of spywork, I found that one of the training spears in the danger room was replaced with a real steel spear. Luckily, the danger room was not active yet, so there were no injuries.
