The Sims 3- 6dorfs1house
« on: December 29, 2013, 10:25:37 pm »

Well, I said it may well turn up.

Welcome to a let's play of The Sims 3. After reading this LP of it, I decided to get the game and have a go myself.

The Sims 3 is the third game of The Sims series (Gasp!), a game that proved to be quite a hit. The gameplay pretty much boils down to 'Run some guys lives.', and it can go pretty much any direction. You can have a house of artists, more fish than an ocean, five Sims that are all crime lords, so on and so forth. You can then, if you want to, burn down your house and the Sims, or get more interesting with your murder methods. A few well-known ones include making a swimming pool and removing the ladder until the Sims drown, locking them in a room with no door, with only a computer until they starve to death...

Now, it's gonna be similar (read: nearly identical) to that LP in terms of character sign ups. Here's the form thingy:

You shall need:
A photograph. Several are better because then making you into a Sim is gonna be easier. Alternately, if you get a character from a game where you can customise them, I'll nab that and try my best. Links to your pictures in the photo thread (if you have them) are fine.

A quick description of your personality. What are you like? How would your friends describe you? What are your likes and dislikes? The more, the better! Just remember that you have five traits, as opposed to the personality bars of the last two games.

What's your favourite colour? Favourite food? Favourite music? What's your dream career? I also need to pick your lifetime aspiration, which ranges from reaching the top level of a job, to making 20 friends, to having 10 romantic partners at a time (don't pick this one). If you know the game, suggest one. If not, I'll work it out.

What kind of clothes would you like to wear?

SEND VIA PM!

I won't be dumping photos/characters in here for both privacy and because I don't really see the need to. And, as I said, characters from games are fine, so long as they are custom characters. I don't want a house inhabited by 6 Marios or something. Also, be aware, dwarves DO NOT WORK. The height can't be changed in vanilla, which is what I am presently using.

We'll be starting on the street with plenty of empty slots, so custom families can be added as neighbours. Majority of gameplay will be automated, partially out of necessity (6 Sims!), and partially because they can do very stupid things when uncontrolled. Such as kissing some person whilst their partner is in the room, then proceeding to insult the kissee and their now-ex.

I'm NOT working on a first-come first-served basis. I'm going to work on characters that are varied, otherwise everyone will act similarly. Which will be pretty boring.

Enjoy the LP as it unfolds, and beware of the gnomes! They can move whilst off screen.

Applications are closed. LP begins tomorrow!

Best LP of The Sims 2 Ever!

By which I mean, within it's 85 pages, it features about two in-game days of play (or roughly 2 pages).  Epic.

Just so you're aware, sims can climb out at the edge of the pool now.

Not if you fence the whole edge off, they can't.

Sims 3 isn't very fun to LP in my opinion. It's extremely difficult to kill your sims deliberately, and basically impossible to do it accidentally.

That said, give everybody one bedroom. That way, they can all admire the same art objects while sleeping and get from depressed to golden happiness every night, even on a budget. Unless they fixed that.

give everyone a separate bedroom and a single cramped bathroom to share between all of them on the other side of the house (or furthermost from the living room)

this is supposed to be a fun lp damnit

i'd get my sim in but actually describing anything = effort so i'll just watch the trainwreck

PTF... :) The last sims LP I involved myself in was MZ Halfway Huas, which turned out to be all kinds of awesome... in part because of the very true to life me who went table dancing in nightclubs in his mining overalls.
