The wagon rattles, and shakes violently as it hits what feels like every bump in the poorly maintained road tossing you around, and managing to give you a number of new bruises despite your best efforts to stay in your seat. Your small sack of belongings is lying the floor pinned between the wall, and your foot with the emblem of your office tied tightly to it, a diamond shaped piece of iron bearing a complex design of two crossed pistols signifying everything that you were to uphold. That single piece of medal marks you as an Inquisitor, one of the Order of Blackstone, to the common folk you are one who looks for heresy and treason though that is far from your true purpose ... your job is to hunt down the creatures of the night, to safeguard the world from their danger, and keep knowledge of their existence a secret at all costs even if the price is someone's life.
You are currently on your way to the village of Brightwood, a cheery little farm village with a population of roughly three-hundred and fifty, lately their have been strange occurrences near the village, rumors of disappearances, strange lights in the woods at night, and that sort of thing. As you realize that these cases almost always are the result of drunk villagers imagining things and making excuses to drink you think back on your past, marveling on how you came to such a righteous office.
Your name is ...
You are ... (Male or Female)
During your training as an Inquisitor you excelled at ...
(A) You excelled when it came to combat training, half way through your training you were besting the trainers more then they were you until finally it got to a point that the trainers conceded, agreeing that none of them had anymore to teach you. You were a master at the sword, a marksman with the pistol, and displayed a talent for awareness during combat that even experienced Inquisitors envied.
(B) You showed a certain knack for the more technical, and knowledge oriented parts of your training expressing great talent in learning the alchemy, basic rituals, and general information they taught you. By the time you were appointed the position of Inquisitor you could create alchemical poultices, and potions that the entirety of the other candidates for Inquisitor struggled with.
(C) You expressed great skill in the linguistics training the Order gave, you had a certain kind of air about you that seemed to make people relax, and tell what they truly thought around you, and for those that seemed to resist that you were a master at putting the pieces together to the subtle hints, and slip-ups people made in their usual speech. Quite a few of your teachers agreed that you would have no difficulty convincing most people to do what you want if you put some effort into it.
As part of your appointment to Inquisitor your Mentor gifted you with ...
(A) A superbly crafted flintlock pistol emblazoned with silver intricate carvings of roses, and vines all along the sides of it, the weapon itself seemed to radiate a feeling of rightness, and your Mentor informed you that it was a blessed weapon. It is truly a marvelous weapon, and one worthy of an Inquisitor.
(B) A Writ of Harkus, a special document backed by the national government and the Order itself giving you certain freedoms, and rights beyond that given to you by your Inquisitorial symbol. The first and foremost of these is the right to recruit someone into the Order, and into your (as the term is within the Order) Cabal, and the second important effect is that it grants the bearer almost free roam of anywhere within the kingdom. Such a Writ is usually reserved for Inquisitors who have weathered a few years of service, or several extremely successful mission.
(C) A thick tome containing knowledge on several advanced rituals, alchemical formulas, and even some of the more obscure creatures of the night by the name of the Hunter's Guide. It is filled to the brim with knowledge that could save an Inquisitor's hide, and give them an edge above many others, the things within this book could mean life or death in the war against the creatures of the night.
